Interesting thread this (aren't they all) but I sometimes experience the gauge showing a very high oil pressure reading when the car is cold, I keep checking the gauge and after a while I see it's back to normal.

The oil pressure is always artificialy high while the engine is cold and the oil is thick. As the engine - and oil - warms up, pressure drops. But it also depends on revs.

Agree with you simpo two, but in this instance it drops like a stone from about 60/70 to 30 !!!! I'll get all the things checked.

Cheers for all the advice in this thread and hope we all get these oil gremlins sorted!
