beer sounds fantastic! I hope mine sounds that good when its done,
Let us know if you solve the fan, heating issue! do you think it could be that your rad is a little shorter than original and the intercooler is up against it? I'm not quite at that stage yet so hoping to learn from your experiences thumbup

Yes I think your right, temp keeps climbing very slowly but the fans dont bring it down. Bought some new SPAL fans that move much more air than the originals and this has not helped at all really. Im gonna post in the Engine section but guess it will be bigger rad maybe or moved further forward.

Look forward to hearing yours thumbup

After my broken valve springs failing the last rolling road a little update now.

Just got back from a mapping session, got a weak actuator spring but set boost at 10psi on low comp engine. These turbos really spool up fast, made around 370bhp but the torque was 490.4lbft at 3800rpm so left it there before I start breaking things biglaugh

Got a few more things to upgrade now!

Couldnt give it much on way home due to weather but will soon thumbup

I think my cam is a bit pants to be fair, power was tailing off. Going to put a turbo/blower cam in and see. And I think my standard 4.0 heads might be a bit of a restiction now so maybe an improvment there also.

The state of my springs wouldnt be surprised if my cam has no lobes on biglaugh

More power def to come but want to play things safe not just whack loads of boost in it.

Its a 4.6 yes low comp

Bit of an update as its raining and I cant play with the car frown

My last problems were the car was getting hot, not excessively but if I got stuck in a long Jam the temp would keep climbing so a bit wary. This has meant a new intercooler and rad now due to the old design. Looking at the pics my previous intercooler was not the greatest flowing thing with those horrible bends. But this is a continued tinkering / progression to see what I can achieve on a budget and my limited skills.

Firstly I have replaced the rather restrictive 40-45mm intercooler with a 100mm thick one. Its massive, very tall not all the rows will get cold air on them but it still doesnt stop the flow which is more important. Im seeing inlet temps now around 23 degress down from 30 which is excellent. Been out spray painting the logo on this morning.....

I have now got a really nice flowing Y piece from both turbos and when they are joined all go to 3" pipework now, difficult to see from the photos.

I have now installed the standard rad but with uprated SPAL fans, the temp never gets about 81 now no matter how you drive it. Was going to alloy rad again but it just doesnt need it.

You can see where I have cut into the wing this is all done in alloy pipe apart from the silcone 90's to keep pipe as much rigid pipe as possible.

(how dirty is my engine bay now!)

Im very happy with the result, it goes much better than before I certainly think my intercooler was a restriction. It ongoing too with new big valve heads to go on over the winter. I briefly ran it at 15psi when it was done as my new found flow had found me some more psi and wheelspin in 4th was possible! Back down to 10psi now until I get my r888's fitted next week. I have also just bought a water injection kit to hopefully keep the internals of the engine a bit cooler too.
