It's a pre facelift front end with the grille missing IMO. Yep, I can now see overspray too. Also look at the difference between the driver's door and the rear arch - different colours. Plus the door mirror needs painting.

'needs tidying'

You could virtually replace the interior and respray it and still have a bargain!

Unless there's no engine

Sounds like whats required, and with it being a CAT C with the work that needs to be done, sounds like being worth closer to 5k than 10k

Agreed Mustard. Deffo not worth the hassle. Also it probably has never seen any TLC on the chassis so is likely a rusty nightmare waiting to happen.

i actually went to see this car as a friend was looking to buy one.
Believe me a little tidying is WAY OFF the mark!!The whole car was shot. How he got it to look that shiney in the pic is beyond me!it looked like it had been sprayed with a can in the garage, the interior was knackered, for two owners there was no history what so ever the light cowels were missing the drivers rear quarter had been very badly repaired it was a mess and actually a bit sad to see.It would need 10k spent on it.

Doesn't sound too healthy... ... but then your car is immaculate Plunkett...!

Just goes to show how careful you've got to be when buying a TVR doesn't it...

So this car has evidence of a previous repair ...

If you go and see the car and the buyer does not disclose this is he committing an offence?

Or is he only committing an offence if you direclty ask if it has been repaired etc and he says it hasn't?

What about if a dealer was selling it? Presumably we're into him maybe falling foul of the Sale of Goods Act etc.

No; and he'll say don't know mate (and then you try and prove he did know). A dealer would have HPI the car and would know.

There's another undisclosed write off car on here that I am aware of; perhaps Pistonheads should include an "HPI Clear" type tick box on the proforma for placing adverts. It would save a lot of time and effort; and we wouldn't have people thinking you can buy low mileage recent Chims for circa £10k.
