Hi,
Following on from a recent post. Could anyone provide easy instructions on how to get the inside of the door off (the leather bit). Some hoon put a brick through my window and the autoglass people didn't remove all the glass from the door, so it rattles!

Many thanks

If you remove the speak from the door then you should be able to get your hand in to remove some of the glass. I've removed my speaker before and remember that there are two bolts just inside that hold the bottom part of the door lining in place. With regard to removing it fully I'm sure that someone out there knows!

Remove the speaker from the door panel. You can then reach your hand through the hole to get to the door interior. The inside skin of the door is in two parts: the carpet panel and the surround. The surround comes off first.

To remove the surround you need to reach inside the door, through the speaker opening, and undo the nuts from the three or four bolts holding it in place (number of bolts seems to vary). All of the bolts are along the lower edge of the door (think about half-way down the door pocket). There is one bolt nearer the front of the car than the speaker hole and the rest are nearer to the boot end. Mine had four bolts, with the furthest from the hole a real swine to get to: I had to get my arm in the door up to the shoulder joint. Undoing the nuts seems to have given other people real bother: I found it acceptably tricky using a socket set adapter in my bare fingers. You may also find there is a small screw behind the ash tray, but mine didn't have. If so, you can apparently just pull the ash tray out to get to it.

Once you've got this off then you can remove the carpet panel. This is held in with a few (?) self-tapping screws along its top edge. These are normally hidden behind the top part of the surround.

Once you've got both of these off, though, you still can't really get much further in due to the plastic sheeting used to keep out the water. I've not messed with this, so you're on your own from here. Sorry :-(
