Took the freshly polished Chimaera out today, full of the joys of spring, roof off etc (get the picture)?
Got to a roundabout, road was dry, so gave it a quick squirt on the exit. This was a mistake. 50 yards of opposite lock later,ae going from threepenny bit to a ring doughnut, managed to get sensible again.
Ladies and Gentlemen, i got away with it. PLEASE make sure that you do

in hindsight, it was quite fun really.. .. ..

I got caught out during the week with something similar on a roundabout that i use daily, same as you it was dry except for 2 or 3 days worth of salt and grit left over from the cold spell panic which did nothing for tyre adhesion.

My fault for going too fast realy.Live and learn.

My RideDrive instructor told me that a huge proportion of performance car accidents are coming off roundabouts. Says they're sweeping them up all the time.

Got caught out like that a couple of years back... apparently dry road, roundabout, familiar route... booted it to pass a volvo and it all went t!ts up!!

Recovered the situation and tried to carry on like that was normal... very scary at the time, but you should have seen the face of the passengers looking out of the back of the volvo!

got caught out briefly by the road conditions yesterday afternoon after the 30 second snow flurry

Road appeared dry as i approached downhill into a S bend, eased on the gas as I was going through the first bend - sideways!
managed to get it back for the second bend - PHEW! Certainly drew some attention from the people waiting at the bus stop

I know what you mean but I was out in it when the snow arrived - complete suprise - it was sunny when I left 2 hours earlier (very nearly took the roof off)

Mr. Maniac, you have failed the first test. However, all is not lost. I understand that things may have been different before and that you may not understand what it means to own a Chim. Now is your chance to learn.
If there is a chance (any chance) that the wheather will be good enough GET THE TOP OFF!
For the avoidance of doubt, "good enough" does not mean "is it going to rain/snow while I am out", it means (at the very least) am I going to be stationary while it is raining/snowing. If your are likely to be travelling at 40 mph or more precipitation it not a concern - that's what the windscreen is for.
