I'd challenge the requirement for child like arms to perform this task as I've done it without much issue. And to give you an idea of my "frame", am an ex rugby player/martial arts student, 172cm tall and weighing in at 95Kg, am no dainty wall flower smile

2 points that will make this straight forward.

1. Have the window up
2. Look at the photos earlier in this thread to know where the bolts are that you are reaching for

As a side note my door cards are different. One side has the 4 bolts indicated, the other only 3 - furthest bolt not present. what took me time was trying to reach a bolt that was not there biggrin

OK, time for a really dumb question... Earlier post here states if ashtray is fitted, there's a screw behind it. My car doesn't have ashtrays so there MUST be no screw. Right? Or have Door Pullers United found a sneaky one elsewhere instead? I'm assuming the 'no ashtray' model simply omits this one.

When it comes to the screws, I believe no standard. My two door cards varied in number of screws and their placement, The only common screw location was the ashtray. I think the outer part should just lift away fairly easily once you've removed the nuts, revealing the location of any screws on the inner panel.

There's an article in this months Sprint about this very topic. Whereabouts are you, perhaps a TVRCC member nearby could lend you the mag? Alternatively send me a PM and I'll scan it for you and send it along.

Great thread, thanks for the excellent guide. However, I am stuck at the very first step - removing the speaker grille. How does it come off? I'm scared of breaking it.

Ping it out carefully from the edge with a finger nail or a small electrical screwdriver. (It doesn't have to be an electrical screwdriver, obviously, that's just an indication of size.)
