i am looking for any service records, any other info, or contact details for any one who knows this car
Thanks in advance

My car is a cat D stolen and recovered then vandalised, tried to get some service history with no success.I would not worry to much beacause i bet you got it for the right price. What i did do is get a full report from DVLA which said there were no accident damage.Non specialist insurance companys don`t want to know about these cars so they write them off.The owner had lost heart so all he wanted was the money...A new top dash, wheels and it was back on the road..Just drive and enjoy.

Thanks Silicone, i intend to keep the car for a number of years. i will start to build up a service history from now as the car is quite young, but any history to me would be interesting. The carcheck report comes back saying the car was a write off in 2003, now the 500 would have still been worth quite a bit as a 4 year old car, so there must have been a LOT of damage? there is possible that more damage occurred on a track day or somewhere else and not been reported?
i would just like to tie up the missing few years and loose ends. i will follow up your ideas about getting more info from dvla.
I am insured by A flux, i have 4 cars with them and a household policy, i asked them to quote the 500 for me and they said it would be same premium and £25 admin and i had to get an engineers report within 30 days. I went with Mannings, thank you Lee, for a £90 saving, excess £100 ( down £150) and no engineers report saving (£200) no brainer
btw i did pm you and ask if you wanted to px your 500 :-)

(get an engineers report within 30 days.)

That engineers report cost a fortune and still its a Cat D.I looked in to that hoping to loose the Cat D status.

so did i rolleyes

you can only get a cat c inspected and checked out to lose the cat c status but it is not that easy...has to be repaired to a standard = to when it came out the factory.
A guy i work with had bought a cat c slk, repaired it and had it inspected and it passed but they would not clear its cat c status because of pattern parts. So he got them changed it passed and now when you do an HPi check it comes up clear.

Well well, this was my car, I could tell you all about the accident, the fun I had prior etc etc but do you really want me to?!

Pm me if you want, I would actually like to see the old girl again, she was a cracker!

I even have a set of keys somewhere I think with the original alarm fob!

Hi Zebedee
funny story, i bought a 400 from tvr dean ( didnt know about his rep at the time) paid 50% deposit and flew to newcastle to collect, unbeknown to me he had put it through the car wash 30 mins earlier, there were a couple of discrepancies but i thought its too late now. drove off and broke down 3 miles from his house ( it was minus 4) called tvr dean who refused to come out saying "tough" i said i need to bring it back, he said take it to london and that he would pay for any work, kin liar lol. turned out the fusebox had melted from the car wash, cost was £750. he refused to pay, so i rang his mot people and said it was a dodgy mot and that i was getting mot people around, got £1000 back that night happy days.
well about a month later tvr dean called me and said he had a great car for me (yours) and that he would give me full price against the one i bought from him earlier. i paid £9250 for your car. had it 4 years it was brilliant, nothing went wrong, it was ultra reliable, i really enjoyed it. however like you i was driving it too quickly, id put a different plenum and clives why piece, i was getting 290 bhp. but i was driving thinking whats wrong with the car, but i was hitting the rev limiter, i was driving much too quickly. so i sold it last year for £9250 :-) probably a little cheap but it was coming up to chassis and out rigger time.
if you still have the spare key, should i get in touch with the new owner, or put you in touch with him?

if you want some pics?
