Nah , I love the car but after an accident at work I'm no longer able to drive it as it's such a struggle to get in it, for me it's only accessible with the roof off. Once in it's not too bad , it's just a shame to have it sat about when it should be driven and enjoyed.

Simon,

Of course they are necessary, they're red wink

and will shortly be fitted to mine (sorry it's not in a Chim laugh)

I hope you have some very very good noise filtering as well as very good grounds for the ECU because they are increadably noisey. Apart from being red they are no better than the standard Ford coil pack Im afraid, but they do look good wink

Interested in that comment Phil as I run a pair (with an Emerald ECU). Do you mean RF interference from the HT side or noise on the low tension windings? Any views on how best to screen/filter as although I have had no ECU issues, I have had grief from neighbours about Sky TV being knocked out (gone to resistive plugs and resistive leads to try and suppress this)?

Im afraid the only thing I can think of is to paint the Ford ones red and fit those wink

Every MSD ignition device I've used seems to have noise issues, hence why I tend to recommend people dont use them, there are more powerfull coils about that are cheaper if thats whats important to you, but the Ford items are just so good and reliable, theres little point fitting anything else when going wasted spark,

@ MPoxon:- the Intake pipe is fabricated from two cheap universal kit things you can grab cheap out here in Germany. Just measured about 1200 times, cut and welded in places. Looks okay though and makes a jolly nice sound biggrin

Phil,

Not so sure this noise issue is as important as you say.

Most every 1/4 miler runs a MSD setup and they don't seem to have problems even with ECU's and data recorders running.

I didn't realise you were going for a DIS setup with your new engine Phil, what ECU are you going for?

Have you got an existing thread going on your build?

Well, thanks for the reply but must confess to being a little disappointed as your previous comment seemed to infer some empiric knowledge of problems these specific coils (and maybe some experience of fixes or work-arounds). However, rather, it now looks to be some generic dislike of MSD stuff on the basis of other stuff you've come across?

Wow - impressive spec. - did you do this in stages or all at once? How much power (and £cost) does a triple plenum add if you don't mind me asking? You must be pushing out 300hp at the fly?
