Agree the colour is stunning. Shmee, have you had a look on the TalkMorgan forum? Would be great if you could post on there. I followed your posts here with your Aston, would be interested to read your comments following discussions on the TM site.

Congrats on the car, love the (new) colour.

Interesting to see the handover you got, especially for a used (?) car. I actually learnt a few things about mine.
Not sure that the gauge really shows the battery temperature as Nick Baker seems to think... Although that could be a MY14 feature that I'm not aware of

Interesting that he took the cowl off in the video, but we didn't see him put it back on ;-) and in your later video you declined to take it off again, saying its a two man job

Please note what he said about filling the petrol tank. If you brim the tank you are likely to have engine issues such as stalling until the level drops a bit.

Incidentally, how are you finding the petrol gauge? On the pre MY14 cars, "0%" actually means 50% left. A lot of us have changed the sensor for a longer one (simple fix... one wonders why the factory didn't do it). Maybe the MY14 has had this resolved.

I bought a helmet for mine like you, but only tried it once and it's been gathering dust since then. You can't hear the exhaust, which is a huge part of the fun of driving it

Last thing - the chassis is not made of wood...
When it comes to the handover, I did ask of course to do all of the videos like this, I like to show more detail about any car I get the opportunity to. The car did start life with 1,900 miles on it already - not a newborn!

I think it's the putting the cowl back on that's the tricky bit. I've since done it 5+ times as part of the wrapping process and to keep everything tidy over the two days we were doing it.

With fuel, I hadn't realised about filling the tank to complete being a problem; I've done 3 to the brim so far and not experienced a single problem, but who knows. However I do have the same fuel gauge thing and I'm glad you've brought that up. I did wonder how at 20% to empty I was only putting 18 litres into a 42 litre tank... Where do I find more info about fixing this?

Chassis is definitely not wood! The frame around it is though, where did I write/say the wrong thing?

I signed up a week ago but my account hasn't been approved yet sadly.

Petrol gauge info:
http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/18...
It's a simple fix, the factory sender only reaches half way into the tank, replace it with a longer (280mm) one from the same manufacturer (VDO I think) that is easily available online

The wooden chassis was at 1.30 in your walkthrough of the car smile

On brimming the tank; has only happened to me once when pulling away from a petrol station, but has happened twice when I left the car after filling up, came back a few hours later and it didn't want to run smoothly at all. I think there is some kind of vacuum created if there is too much fuel in the tank, especially if the car is in the sun (the petrol expands?)... Or something like that. Its interesting that rather than fix the problem with the MY14, Morgan just told you not to fill the tank completely wink

Thanks for that, looks pretty easy, going to go take off my rear cover and take a look at it with a view to getting the part that now only seems to be £46.
