Why don't you just swop it for a Series II/III Tony. The same 330 bhp, but 350'ish with side pipes and all the other mechanical improvements. Just a thought
Could be done - boshly's series II was an eye opener at the weekend - effectively a series III but with the 'old' lights.
Thing is I love the SI shape, and the narrow cockpit the 'old style' glass rear window (heated) etc etc - though the advantages of Traction control / ABS and a full width dashboard are a good reason to trade up at some point I guess!

Factory demo series 3 car (green one) up for sale at a stupidly low price. Colour not my cup of tea but batter in the flesh (aluminium!). Not sure about side exits but sure there is room for negotiation.

I wish they wouldn't do this as it destroys second-hand values and ultimately puts up the cost of ownership for us all.
Andy, do you know what the price is, or do you not want to publish?
Tony, suggest that you read the following link as the comments from SpeedMog may be relevant to your own feelings:

better get myslef joined up there - good link!
Speedmog has similar thoughts - not convinced on this depreceation conjecture - in the end you buy these things to enjoy - not save money!
The main reason I went SI was very simple - I never saw an SII car for sale anywhere, and with a Maserati to trade in and summer road trips already booked I wasn't going to wait for one to get built!
While its very obvious that Morgan are moving the game forward with the sII/III I think there are details being lost that I feel are important.
e.g.
Heated windows all round - standard on SI - not available on others.
Glass rear window with heated elements - standard on SI - not available on SII. (I have a real aversion to plastic rear windows on convertibles after owning an MG))
Shape of the rear - SI is lower and more 'swoopy' the SII / III is much higher (good to ahve a bigger boot though!)

I'd be very intersted in performance options, Ive looked at:
West Racing - ECU
Libramotive/Factory - Sports/side exit exhausts
ITG - Induction upgrade
Hammann Engine Rebuild (as advertised for X5)
Other than that I've not got very far. From what I can see these will have a significant cost with only limited return. I'm looking for Circa 400Bhp otherwise they're pretty cosmetic upgrades.

drop me a PM nomis - not ready to do anything right now, but might be up for some tweaks over the winter while it's mostly off the road...
Mr Tony, let me know when you're ready
From my time with BMWs, I know a few people. As Aeroman and I have discussed the 4.4 valvetronic is not a stressed engine and has a fair bit still to offer. A good start would be an ECU re-map BUT only after a pre-run on a rolling road/dyno.
If I can get enough interest over at talkmorgan.com I'll organise a day and people can run their cars up (see what bhp they are producing as standard) and then discuss with the tuner what the gains would be from a re-map, etc.
Anyone worth their salt will run the car on a dyno pre and post tune to ensure they have had value for money - and any tuner that isn't willing to offer this service should be avoided imho.
As for gains - the Aero is light so even 20-30bhp more - with an increase in nm torque, will be noticeable and worth the limited costs we're talking about with ECU changes.
