Just being consistant then. biggrin

It all went a bit quiet when they announced the 3 wheeler. I do wonder if a lot of the initial deposits have been claimed back.

Another who has heard nothing other than first letter confirming deposit etc. Did go on the stand at the FOS last year and asked about progress, chap I spoke with said that due to the phenominal success of the 3 wheeler most other stuff had been put on the back burner (nice for them and 3 wheeler customers, stangely of little concern to me). He did however say that enough deposits had been place for the tooling to be ordered, so production would go ahead... oddly he mention a figure of around 70 orders which I actually thought was quite low.

Quite surprised by the lack of any communication, when placing the deposit there was a talk on the phone of a factory visit etc once they got the clay back from pebble beach, since then nowt... I even see they have just had a factory open day on the 2nd of December (discovered only by pics of the day going up on their facebook page after the event), again I would have thought that might be the sort of thing that might be of interest to depositors etc but hey ho.

I began to suspect some time ago that the project had been shelved for the time being. No evidence at all just a feeling that in the current climate such a small firm has limited resources and the 3 wheeler is an existing product that simply needs putting together to recieve full and steady cash flow from customers, whereas an awful lot of work and resources need to go into an all new vehicle long before any substantial cash flow can be generated.

If a lot fo the initial rush of deposits has dwindled and a significant number of those have requested a cancellation then they may be holding the project until demand for the 3 wheeler beds down to a normal, long term level that can be budgeted for etc and the excess resources (man power and capital) moved across to continue with the Eva.

It would seem logical. But the Eva is still the best looking new car I've seen in a long time, should be practical with it's 4 seats and BMW power and is British.

Strange how those of us who put our money down have no further information. I emailed as was told my build is pushed out to 2013 - nothing else.

Frankly, the only reason I have pulled my deposit is that interest rates as so bad. You would think, for providing interest free working capital, you would at least get a Christmas card, an invitation to the factory, a test drive in the 3 wheeler...something.

Hey ho - I guess that is how Morgan cars work - tradition and all that....

Let's also not forget the XJ220 tale which defined the last recession and how it has haunted the industry.

I think Morgan are being wise if they are holding back. It's not as if the car will date or there won't ever be more demand than they can supply so why risk spending capital at a point in time when it could go 50:50 economically ( and those are generous numbers;) )

Correct - just a bit of up-front with the punters is never a bad idea.

Vital for stripping out time wasters that will cane limited resources.

Yes to both am afraid, further delay and new twist to how it will be made have sent me scurrying - on top of all that can also only imagine the price heading north.

Thanks. I think I'll have to do the same unfortunately...
Not finding Morgan very responsive though, surprisingly!

OK, so looking at where I am in the build list I am looking like 2015 at the earliest.

As a result, and with regret, I have pulled by deposit. I may be back in Ireland by then so adding an extra 30% for vehicle registration tax not that appealing.

Fair play to Morgan - no issues or problems with returning the deposit.

Yep, I've got a deposit on the 4C too, let's hope it comes to fruition? confused

As regards the Eva GT, I'm still keen but waiting to see the finished product before fully committing! wink
