A friend of mine has a 1972 MGB Roadster in Teal Blue which has been off the road for ~5 years.

It is the last of the chrome bumper models, with the better steering rack, wire wheels, K&N filters, braided hoses and a replacement engine and was SORNed when it's clutch failed.

I understand that it has lots of valuable guages (oil, vacuum, alt-meter etc), so could be worth a decent amount broken, but that seems a shame to me when it could make a very easy resto project.

What is the view of the PH MG collective in terms of likely value in whole form?

With all old MG's my advice is always the same.....

Body work, body work and body work

If the body is fine then do it

Mechanicals are piss easy on these and almost every part is available off the shelf

Body work is the expensive bit.....
