A topical question, for autumn...

Anybody B-heads had luck finding refills for the bayonet fit Tex stainless steel wiper blades (12" length, 7.2mm width)?

I replaced the whole unit for both wipers a few months back and already the rubber is shredding!

I have read elsewhere that rubbers on the Tex blades are renowned for being fairly useless, but I'm really not going to spend £15-£20 every time I need to (frequently) replace them.

There are plenty of universal blades out there - both made to fit and cut to size - but the width seems to be either 6mm or 8mm. I'm guessing 7mm is probably US rather than UK standard, hence Tex's monopoly in the UK...

The stainless steel holders are fine, especially if you bend them a little to fit the contours of the windscreen but the rubber inserts are hopeless.

Cheers!

Just looking at the Eurocarparts site (other motor factors are available), they do both replacement Bosch and Valeos blades (not re fills) for for less than a tenner each. Maybe ditch the Tex ones and go with a known brand?

Fair point carinaman - thanks!

Interloper - I guess you're right. Just wanted to keep it looking fairly original and sleek black wipers on a '73 MG might look a little odd. I'll see if Bosch have any that might fit though. Thanks!
