Where are you MG'ers these days? It really is like the bloody Mary Celeste in here. Incredible to think the owners of the most common of classic car marques don't communicate. For sure, there are other sites but they're predominantly US contributors. So, apart from Kentish and Sam's projects, Simon's V8, Phil's V12 and my V8...what else is happening?

And for some news...roads pretty filthy yesterday, a good friend arrives at home grinning like a Cheshire cat. He's in his white GT and he's had his wires powder coated in a great manifold grey colour and re-shoe'd with Vredestein rubber. They look superb in this colour and make an enormous change to plain boring standard grey, or even worse...chrome[!] wire wheels.

I agree it is a very quiet site - but I think a few people are just readers - never posters for some reason.

This morning I have been mostly underneath my old BGT, slowly the gearbox out. I might post some piccies later.

To be honest the American MG experience forums are fairly busy and friendly so worth a look.

I'll admit to being more of a reader than a poster!

I reckon MG's being so common could also be their downfall regarding forums. Unless your planning a custom build, most of the information you need to solve a problem is only a quick google search away. You don't need to ask on a forum as its been asked before (usually), it's just a case of finding it. This is certainly what I've found anyway. Saying that the MG club forums do seem to be busy.

I have been meaning to do a write up on my MGB GT renovation, one day I'll get around to it!

I'm still here wavey Just got nothing to post or interesting to say.frown Haven't really used the car much since the autumn.
There are plenty of MG owners on here, hopefully as the cars start to be used more in the spring there will be a bit more on here.

Sadly due to lack of use I am about to sell my pristine Midget. Any ideas on the place place to advertise it?

Well, my roadster is currently strippped to the shell, with the driver's side sill cut out to the floor panel. I haven't been very good at keeping my build diary up to date though. But I will say that I never want to have to drill out another spot weld.

A similar story this way - the saga continues... However, it's on a positive note as metal is actually going back after a long time party

I give you the amazing hovering MG... hehe

I promise I will get round to writing a thread on this evetually, hopefully it will encourage folk to contribute, even more so when it gets to the engine swap - Andrew you know what I'm talking about wink

Always check the forum, and appreciate photos....

Here is my project, the pic is last summer, it has come on quite a bit since, mostly front wheelarch extensions and fibreglass repairs, but I will keep posting as I progress.

....another MG owner lurking and who drops in occasionally.

Not done much with the 4AGE Midget lately other than fit some 264/256 HKS cams in the summer. It is somewhat lively now smile

Really must get a better photo now that the sills are black and have the chrome strip and lettering.

My turn to lower the tone... Last year I acquired Oscar from another PH'er, there is a thread in readers rides some were. Anyway on rescuing Oscar, I soon discovered that not only will he not start (I suspect this is largely down to the electronic ignition) but also the bulkhead is really rotten.

The best way to tackle that was to get the engine out for access, which I duly did, I then found that really to make a really good job of it I also need the gearbox out. By that point I had run out patience so I turned my attention to my other project car...

Then winter/Christmas, now I am turning my attention back to the B.

First job, gearbox out!

There's nothing like working on your back on a drive outside in the damp. I set things up so I could undo one prop bolt at time, lift the back end, rotate the prop, lower the back ( so the prop wouldn't move with the spanner!)undo the next bolt. Rinse and repeat..

Also its an overdrive box so, heavy, I am sure its heavier than the Ford type 9 in my Scimitar. Or maybe my arms are getting weaker.....

Finally slid out...

And now in its new home in my shed/workshop...

Which will mean I can get back to tackling this, the bulkhead of doom...

Hi Dryden
- are those JA Pierce alloy wheels? What about some more pictures or a new thread?
