De-cat - Is one enough?

Quick question regariding decats and MOTs. I drive a 2004 MG ZS 180, in the past I've read that if you was to remove the larger cat the car will still pass a MOT due to having a precat. My question is, would my car still pass an MOT if I was to get rid of the precat (by gutting it)? I ask as I've never seen this asked specifically for my car - it should pass in theory, I was just wondering if anyone has failed for this reason.
