Hi all. I have an SR4 with a faulty fuel pump. Have located the pump in the tank under the seat, but can't see how the pump is removed from the tank. Is the complete body, about 5 inches dia, screwed into the top of the tank? or fixed in some other way. Anybody shed any light on this, thanks in advance, steve

There is a large wire tensioner around the inside perimeter of the alloy hole which needs to be removed first, then the fuel pump will simply pull out in one unit. Imagine it as a large internal circlip, get that out and with a little persuasion the fuel pump lifts out.
Take care as there is usually a compression sealing ring to obviously stop any fuel coming out between the pump and alloy surfaces.

From the Radical parts web site, looks like the piece in the pic is the fuel pipe pick up plate? It looks like its press fitted into the top of the tank, I assume the pump is inside once you get this off. Does this just lever out with the help of a couple of screw drivers ???? Cheers Steve

Yes the reason I could not see a cir clip, because there was not one fitted, the top plate was just pushed into the rubber seal. Got everything out OK, needless to say I will fit a new circlip retaining ring when it all goes back in.

PS. If I find I need a new fuel pump, can anyone recommend where to purchase one, Radical are charging £300 plus VAT for this item, which seems a tad steep.

Just for future reference, this fuel pump is manufactured by VDO part number E22-041-027Z.
It can be purchased separately without all the plastic housing for about £150 from Euro Car Spares (Part Number 441440930). This pump is used in all VW cars such as Golf, Passat etc. They also offer a non OE replacement, exactly the same spec and fit for £60, which is the one I have gone for.
A little bit cheaper than Radical at £350 for the pump and assembly.
