I'm a bit late to add to the topic, but I was exactly like you and wanted a Radical SR3 for road and to drive to my local tracl being Brands Hatch.

My car: 2004 old SR3 LM Road version.

Pro's:
• Amazing car for the track
• Even with limited ability like myself, there is not a lot on track that can touch you in the corners
• Engine seems to be bullet proof
• Best bang for your buck at the price point

Cons:
• Dreadful on the road and your paintwork will be ruined in days through stone chippings
• The Dunlop DZ03 road legal tyres are good for the track, but you will outgrown them and want slicks like myself.
• When you crash it's F*&king expensive. Radical Parts are notoriously expensive for the individual.
• Try not to spin it on track without engaging the clutch. Each spin will cost between £500-£1000 (New starter Motor and also reverse gearing will be shredded)

I paid £17,000 for mine from Pistonheads. It still needs work but I'm down to the 51's on the road tyres at Brands. I know it's not setting the world alight but I've only been track day'ing for a year now.
