Having just beaten cancer im keen to live life at 10/10ths from now on. With that, can you feasibly use a radical as an everyday car? I do about 35 miles a day 95% on dual carriageway.

Well done on your recovery but they are far from ideal on the roads! Why not get one for track use and you will then be able to use it to the full!

Kind of what i was expecting but I had to ask. Id love to track my C63 but feel it's too heavy on the brakes and tyres to be a reliable track toy. On the road tyres last less than 6k so on track I can only assume a days worth would kill them, brakes and all. Is a radical more forgiving on the track with regards to consumables?

Yes.like you say it's the weight or lack of it that helps! Mines a prosport which is pretty light and bad wear is minimal with performance friction pf05 pads.the brakes with the big hi spec calipers are truly superb

10 track days in and apart from a couple of engine issues the only consumable I've changed is a set of front pads due to be fitted before Donington next week.

So for me its a great track day tool, I've ran other cars and for me nothing else comes even close

Hi, Congrats on beating cancer, there is an SR3 SL (street legal) road going version, which could be worth a look into, though there is no roof for when the rain comes, note thats not an if, its a will here in sunny uk. I have a track only prosport modified for hillclimb use, and I could not imagine it on the road, it is bonkers enough on the track! but like the other guys have said, it is very good on tyres / pads. all the best for which ever car you find to meet your demands!

Good to have you still with us smile

It's a real marmite job this one. I love my road legal SR3 but there are people here that think I'm mad or stupid. If you mentally treat the experience as if it were a 4 wheel bike it's brilliant. Obviously the suspension will need to be softer and the ride height greater than a race car but even with those compromises it's still effing quick on a track.

I've been on golf tours, road trips and just to work in it. It's brilliant. Off to Le Mans for a two day track day soon. And yes I'm driving it there smile

Happy shopping

First off mate - big congrats on beating the evil one smile

I own a Radical LM which is the 04 track/road car and to be honest, it's an absolute pig on the road. Mine is still road legal but I have to plan my journey's out as I have had it lowered to track specification so obviously I can't hit a speed ramp otherwise I'm in a world of trouble.

Stone chips are also a big problem on the road. As the front is so low it get's smashed to pieces and I had to have mine repainted.

I would definitely recommend a Radical, but purely for track use only. I only run mine on the Dunlop road tyres and I'm not a talented driver by any means, but even with limited experience and road tyres it does a 53 sec lap at Brands easily and it would definitely do more in the right hands.
