Is that the ex-Calder car that Nick Algar took in exchange for his GR55?

1585 will push it along nicely !!

I'd love a run in a big single seater... flat through debtors in one of those would be rather awesome :-)

where you doing full laps of kirkistown (per racing?) or using one of the sprint layouts ?? if the former - what sort of lap times were you and the single seater doing ?

Yes ex Calder with refreshed judd and new motel ecu and wiring by tim mason. Had a day in kirkstown with owners (pals).car is destined for sprints with occasional hillclimb. Ran with map 4 and needs balls of steel even with reduced power.ran map 1 but only revving to 9k.
I have been arguing my case with hillclimb group on class issue and if they put me in class 7 with single seater race cars I will change to sr1 as it has 2 seats and centre division . Will use my 1585 cc. Not going to let the rule makers change the rules as they go along.

I was soooo tempted by that GR37. It was an absolute bargain, especially when I heard how much the rebuild actually cost. Bear in mind that the only person who can refuse your run is the clerk of the course. Just make sure you know how to protest as the Blue Book is the rule book and it clearly shows you should be in Sports Libre.

Blue Book prevailing in Eire?

Now, there's neo-imperialism for you....................

Just reinforces what I said several post ago about the general level of ignorance on here. getmecoat

Can anyone tell me how sr1 compares with pr6 as if I put a 1585 into sr1 with suspension mods .it will come under fia classification as sports car. They seem to sell s/h for about 23k. Will they take 10 in wheels on rear.the pr6 can rattle sr8 on certain hills. ???????
Thanks guys
Other option oms 1600!

much better specced than your regular SR1, but technically the same car surely?

whats the issue you are up against ? because the PR06 is central seat ? if so just offset the seat slightly...

a guy up north here runs his slightly off set, and gets around the central seat rule.. hence allowing him to run in roadsports (racing)

there are pro sports that run up here in the sports libre class too (as does the SR8 when it comes up)

an OMS 1600 would be an altogether better tool for chasing FTDs anyway... i guess it depends if you want a 'sports' car or a race car ?

The central seat is the issue .A few years ago a single seater had a conversion to a covered wheel car and created protests.
I have been in contact with radical and sr1 is heavier but will comply as a sports car. The real solution is for Southern Ireland to adopt the class,s that run in N I.
The GR37 was out in Kirkstown again last Wednesday for testing again by father/son ,fast fast and faster!. There was two other cars running a Ferrari gt race car and bmw euro long distance race car. both owned by Philip shields.

To get around the central seat position is very easy.... I can put you in touch with a guy that has done it.. To have the car qual for the roadsports class up north.

Phil has some lovely machines in his stable!
