Coolant thermostat

Hi guys
yesterday I start to remove the cylinder head to replace the gasket. Therfore I removed the coolant entry and outlet housing.
Actually I thought that the coolant thermostat is placed at the coolant entry housing but there was nothing.
I checked some suzuki bike racing boards and there was some discussing if it is recommended to use thermostat or to remove it.
So I'm not sure if the pre owner has removed the thermostat or if Radical has done that.
Has Radical done that and if not what are you guys think? Should the GSX1300R engine be used with or without thermostat? What could lead to a problem and what would be the advantage?
