I have been using the Hankook softs and set a new personal best. I think they are terrific especially for sprints. For longer races I still prefer the Dunlop.

What size are you using? presumably 210.610.16 on the back? are they not too narrow for the rims?

This thread is mega old but just looking for current opinions on the Hankooks or best tire for track day duty. 20-25 mins sessions. I'm in the states and most run the Dunlops here. Will probably stick with them as no one here seems to comment on the Hankooks, which are only a couple hundred cheaper.

Thoughts between the two?

On an SR3, Dunlops v Hankooks? Essentially, a no brainer, stick to what the factory uses, Dunlop everytime, especially the wets which are phenomenal.

I don’t think anyone has any idea how many hours of testing that the factory has done over the years with Dunlop to develop both the slicks and wets to suit the cars. As has been said sticking with Dunlop is a no brainer.

If you're "only" gong to be using your car for trackdays and want to keep your tyre costs down, try and find a friendly race team who want to pass on their qualifying and race tyres and knock-down costs.

I ran Hankooks on my SR3rs this year in a race, having tried pirellis at the beginning of the season and in the warm they performed very well and didn't go off. They took a lot longer to come up to temp in anything but hot weather.
For trackday they are fine and will last forever. I have not run them in the cold though.
I put Dunlops back on towards the end of season and the car worked better.
I will say that with a bit of testing and setup, both the Pirellis and Hankooks would get better, whether they would match the Dunlops, I don't know.

I had as well the Hangkook and the Dunlops. Hangkook feel a bit softer. At the beginning they are much faster than the Dunlops (2sec faster a round than Dunlop). But then after an hour, they wear faster than Dunlops and towards the end, Dunlop is much better where Hangkooks are fail
