What can I say, awesome...!!!!!! First day racing was tornado weather , heavy rain and wind, qualified 3rd and finished 3rd, had some drastic understeer (HEART IN MOUTH stuff..nono on nearly all r/h bends, just could'nt get good exit speed out of these right hand bends.

Today, dry track, qualified 2nd, 0.10 seconds behind 1st but still had understeer. Later found out that I had a brocken telescopic arm in the front n/sdamper. Still raced and finished 3rd after nearly hitting a Super Touring ex-BTCC Mondeo at 90mph........it was extremely, cats whisker close and would have totalled the SR3 if I'd hit it (I have the videoclip which I will post if I can compress the file enough. Oh, and I did I tell you that I got bogged down on the start line and 4 cars passed me...banghead

Still, loads of potential in the car now, gonna have to get some new dampers urgently before I take it out again, I can't change just one, they are the KONI type which have seen better days, any suggestions anybody?

Considering this weekend was only the 2nd time I have ever driven on a circuit I am very excited about the races to come, Brands Hatch in 3 weeks.

Try AVO. They do everything from standard right up to remote reservoir stuff.

You can re build the Koni's either by going back to the factory or some motorsport teams will do them (I think Merlin @ Coombe can help).

Are you doing the Semsec meeting @ Brands? If so will see you there in our Prosport.

Can heartly recommend Nitron suspenion, give Guy a shout at Nitron - www.nitron.co.uk/ Light years ahead of Avo and probably (imho) better than the Koni's supplied as standard on the SR3

Well i've checked today and I can get my KONI's tested, stripped and re-valved for around £80 per unit which is good considering the dampers are around £650 each...!? I also enquired about sending them details of the cars corner weight to get the correct spring / pre-load settings which would certainly help. So, either its this route or go all out for another brand similar to what you mentioned Rob. I know the SR8's run INTRAX but have'nt heard much on their performance to date.

Does'nt seem to be much data out there for the SR3 even though i've tried enquiring with some teams that race them driving

Not heard anything good about Intrax to be honest.

Sounds like the Koni route is the way to go, with the right valving they are a good damper.

Had a good day at brands yesterday (Sunday) where we took it to the junos and jades lapping within tenths of a second of them! If anyone is looking for engine work on their cars then I thoroughly recommend Mark Fisher (01536 262555) who done my supercharged hayabusa installation that I run in my prosport and he has been very reasonable with costs compared to others !
My car is going up for sale soon if anyone is interested !!

Regards

Tony.

Sounds like fun, some of those euro tracks are fantastic!

I'm sticking to the CC GT's next year (money constraints more than anything) Doing some work to the Clubsport that'll hopefully push me up the grid next year. Might pop over to Pembery and chase Myd at some stage as well
