Cynical customer exploitation or economies of scale (given most cars need 20Deg) or combination thereof? When it comes to the "Pro", 20Deg is least expensive, more upright 10Deg and more laid back 30Deg are pricier still and let's just say I'm bloody glad we don't need a near enough lay flat 40Deg for our Radicals yikes

Trouble is, as painful as the price is, it'd all seem false economy not to do it if the unthinkable happened and it made the difference. This isn't very cheery chat on a Saturday evening, but there seems to be a general concensus that for example, Dale Earnhardt would probably have walked away uninjured if he had been wearing one rather than being taken away in a box. Let's be in no doubt, we drive seriously fast cars and that increases the possible implications of an off.

I'm with the man above - it can only be due to economies of scale.....may also explain why 30 degree is not available in the plastic cheaper versions.

Yippee, Dony 11 April 2011, just about the best track anywhere on the globe for a Rad & only Rads on track ............ does it get any better for us trackdayers in Rads? I don't think so woohoo

I've been reading through the advanced particulars and it looks to me that it'll be the National Circuit which cuts out the Melbourne Loop of the International Circuit which a lot of chaps much more proficient than me seem to think is a bit of a waste of pads and rubber. That'll be confirmed tomorrow, but suffice to say, I can live with it laugh if it is the slightly longer International Layout.

I also spot some other (what I read as) good news; apparently, there will be no pre-event static noise testing, which always finishes up as a bit of a nail biter (or is debacle a better word?) for Radicals, well at least the ones I've had. The noise requirement is complying with a drive-by 98dB which I've never had a problem with, which doesn't surprise me as I always reckon Radicals are pretty quiet 'up and running'. However, don't be complacent; trip the drive-by meter and you'll be called in for a static which is 100dB. Beats me how the powers that be come up with 100 static and 98 drive-by as a related pair, but with that drive-by and no static test prior 'ours not to reason why, ours but to do and ... be pleased'?

That's a beggar G, you're always good to have around to bring a bit of classy Je Ne Sais Quoi to the proceedings.

Heard and see you're having a run out (with Miss BertBert apparently) on Tuesday 22 March 2011.

BTW, in tonight if you want to have a word about the Ins thing

That'll be fine G, use the landline.

Shame about Snett; last Friday was great weather apparently; good luck tomorrow. Word is all should watch out for revised Coram, plenty of scope for moments leading to damage apparently; obviously if only on the basis of not a great start, best avoided at a Pre-Season Test.

As just posted up on ROC, we look to have the chance to do another 'Exclusively Radical' Trackday!

Brands ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, No, not the short Indy Circuit, the full monty, the awesome GP Circuit! Monday, 11 July 2011, one Exclusively Radical 20 minute session every hour, all day long.

Subject to further details (obviously such as cost), show of hands ASAP please, indicating if you'll likely be on for it. Either by posting on here or via ROC.

Please mail/pm me for the key piece of missing information. If you know what it usually is 'down there', the more so in 'prime season', I think you'll be pretty pleased.

So heads up chaps, it's all down to numbers now. We have until midday THIS Sunday to achieve the requisite number; if we do by then, it'll happen, if we don't, it'll be pulled.

With thanks to those that have already, response so far? Pleasing, but not enough, scope/need for considerable improvement.

No pressure then!

Many thanks to all who have replied so far, be that in the positive (the majority) or the negative, because of things like holidays etc.

By way of an update >

Unfortunately having not yet heard from the likes of Radical themselves, 360 etc (who could easily make all the difference), so far, whilst we're getting there, we do not have enough as I pen this. I'd therefore appreciate if those of you who have yet to apply/focus your minds could do so during the course of today and let me know this evening.

Cost? Usually the GP Circuit is £500-ish at prime time, you'd fall off your chairs if I said half of that, so may be you'd just smile nicely if I said split the difference (including VAT)?

Received a bulletin heads-up from Radical about this (thanks Amanda thumbup) this morning, as sent out on Monday, but delayed delivery due to some sort of server glitch.

If anyone hasn't been sent it and wants to see it, by all means PM me and I'll FW it.

We seem to be getting there ............. just a question of managing to get past that guy right at the front before the bloke with the chequered flag shows.

Heads Up All!

We are very nearly there - current shortfall of Rs could be counted on one hand - minus the odd digit!

D Day is first thing Tuesday, so for those that haven't yet, please apply your minds (to your diary etc) over the course of this Bank Holiday weekend and let me know asap / by close of same at latest.

Looking optimistic that Rad themselves will be there in some deep and meaningful form - could well include the Spares Truck which is always nice to know/have to hand just in case and think of all that P&P you could save!

If only it was at a decent track ........ not just the world-famous and totally awesome Brands Hatch GP Circuit hehe
