sorry to dig out this old thread ...but I'm actually at the point to think about refresh the AVOs or buy somethink new/better.

what can you recommend beside the Intrax. I have already a offer for KW Competion and the KONI 2812. The KONI seems to be very good but also very expensive

Bit of a ressurection as I have Inteax and they're too harsh for the road in their current configuration. I can say that the factory can and will valve them as you want and give you before and after dyno'd results. Also, for those with early 4 way dampers, as I have, they can be retrofitted with ARC. This allows a much softer spring and gives a good improvement in ride, not to mention they handle curbs well.

Ohlins have done a bit of a number with marketing IMHO and you just need to look at the individual dampers and chose one which is more right out of the box, or be prepared for some set up time.

The statement that Intrax are not in the same league as Ohlins etc is simply not true, unless you're talking about cost, then yes, Ohlins are the more expensive.
