The kit looks as if it's comming out at £7,450 plus VAT and fitting

You get everything neaded, all new parts
6 speed gearbox that has the correct ratios and take the power and more
Gearbox mount
Bell housing
Flywheel
Clutch + Thrust again to take over 500 horses
Propshaft
Pedal box assembly
Gearlever & surround
Magic Black Box to fool the engine ECU that the auto is still there
And a Quaife ATB Limited Slip Diff
Sorry but a conversion that costs more than the car makes no sense to me and I suspect the majority of others.

Is there no option of a used box ?

It's not just the cost of the box, there are all the other items like the Black Box that lets the engine, instuments and body procesor still work

The box I'm using has only just come on the market so there aren't any 'Used ones'
Try finding another that takes the power, has the correct ratios and brings the gearlever to the correct place

Even the pedal box has had to be made, there aren't any clutch assemblys available for the XK's

I could delete the Quaife

But I don't want you going backwards into the trees

Also, I can't sell (and find) second hand bits that could fail in use

Whilst I wish you luck I suspect you are simply too late.

£8500 on a £60k car doesn't sound so bad.

But I hope you sell loads so that I can buy a completed car in a couple of years.

I realise that but it has taken many years to develop

You never know, this may give second hand XK's a new lease of life and values will go up

Just an Up-Date on mine

Will have the first of the Cast Bell housings Monday, fit that to make sure all the holes are in the correct place etc.
Then final measurements on the prop shaft to have that made

Then get the car up to my Black Box man to take out the couple of minor Fault Codes that had come up
Nothing to stop the car working as it should but I'm trying to get everything 100%

So looks as if by the end of the month we will be set to GO

That's great news Norman. Can you post a video of the beast in action when you're happy with it?

Is that the mounting bracket you are using or is that just a slave bracket to hold the transmission in position?

I made that up to check angles and to mark the positions of the original mounting captive nuts allong the transmission tunnel. Also so I can find where any extra strength will be required.

A couple of adjustments were required, now I have now taken to the fabricators to have the Production version made and then be powder coated.

Get in quick, as soon as everyone knows you can get a manual XKR the prices are going to go up.

No need for that.

Although I do agree it's expensive (due to it's nature and using new parts) when you see what the Astons go for it does make a degree of sense.

Thanks for that

Also everything is 100% as required to do the job properly not 'That will do'

NormanD, one thing you may want to check is the transmission to axle alignment.

At 70 mph you should be able to project a theoretical line through the axle pinion, have it continue through the propshaft centre bearing, through the transmission output and input shafts and the come out through the centreline of the crank damper.

If you don't you'll see a great deal of vibration.

The engine and gearbox is in the same alignment as the Jaguar's engine and auto gearbox

You should do an X150. I imagine the electronics would pose somewhat more of a problem though.

Presumably if you've got it to work on the old XK, then you're over halfway to being able to do the current car - and that would surely be more marketable?

Great achievement anyway!
