My local dealer showed me round their demo car yesterday and it was all very nice. Then he started it up.

Holy mother of God.

Pop, bang, crackle. What a massive massive surprise that was. Well done Jaguar, if the car wasn't so beautiful from the rear end, the noise is excuse enough to buy it.

Anyway, I didn't have time to take it out. So what are they like to drive? I've read many reviews but real people's experience would be great. I'm thinking particularly about brakes (standard steel), gearchange (auto box doesn't fill me with hope), and how much of a hooligan it is (I'm assuming it isn't the most dynamically taut car in the world?).

Thanks!

And to those lucky enough to have cars coming soon, well done! Sell it to me in a year or two smile

Took delivery of F-type coupe R yesterday...unfortunately only for the day though and got to return it later this morning.
It looks so much better in the flesh, especially at the back and there is a decent boot, unlike the rag-top.
It drives better too and is an absolute hooligan when you put it in sport/dynamic mode. Acceleration is very impressive and paddle shift pretty quick. Standard brakes give lots of confidence and more than happy with them. In standard mode it is a great GT car for touring Europe and beyond and it has a good sound-proofed cabin with windows up.l I would certainly recommend the optional glass roof/sunroof...it gives a much airier feel to the cabin which tends to be a bit tight for space. Off now for one last run before I have to return it ....but it is certainly worth popping into your local dealership as they appear remarkably eager to loan these cars out.

Not driven one yet, but it has been added to the short list of next cars.

I think the Coupe is absolutely stunning and has pushed the BMW 6 series into second place on my list. I wonder how long before they drop under 20k, as that will be the clincher. Or maybe I might have to rethink the budget when my current 6 series is due for changing.

Well done Jaguar!clap

I had a good look at the coupe yesterday. Whilst it is undeniably beautiful, the interior is a big let down with low rent plastics and cheap leather as standard. It will need some work with the options list to rectify that IMO.
I get what you mean. I got to the thick end of 100k on the configurator, steel brakes too.

Much as I want one, that's too much for a Jaguar I think... frown
