I too had what I would consider an average experience with Jaguar in ordering my F-Type. The main issue seems to be an inability of the factory to correctly determine delivery and production dates. This is then poorly communicated to the dealership who spend a lot of their time guessing to try and satisfy customers. My car changed delivery dates 4 or 5 times during the process (and then arrived on a completely random date). I didn't get flowers or champagne either, and my car was just outside the dealership when I arrived. The thing is I'm not fussed by champagne and if I got flowers I'd just pass them onto my mrs. Then she'd start thinking I'd suddenly become a romantic gift-giver which would ultimately cost me more in the long term, so I appreciate Jaguar's foresight on this.

To be honest, my order experience with Porsche was much, much better. Then I drove the car for the first time and realised I couldn't care less about any of the above.

Oh well to all of you know it all's, thanks for your support, (because that was all i was after being a Phr).
This was his response, Thank you for the note and for the detailed account of your experience. Thanks to your diligence in recording the events as the situation has unfolded, we will be able to conduct a full and thorough investigation to establish the key issues and root causes.

But obviously that wasn't all he said, i then recieved a phone call from the executives office, saying they aren't happy with the service i've recieved apologising profusely and also stating that they are going to make sure i will get the car i wanted with the black pack and any errors put right on my car.

Also engineering aren't happy with my car being the're so long and want me to meet them, the factory 2nd in command personally wants to show me round the factory himself and they also want to make amends in any way they see fit!!!
This wasnt about me getting compensation as most of you fkwits said, its just getting a sorry and yes the proper hand over of a 92k car, oh by the way i didnt ask for it but they are lending me brand new lr sport 5 ltr to get by in for now!!

Thanks for your support guys, this is the best forum!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a good result. Sometime the people at the top can see what needs to be done.

Factory visit will be fun. I've only ever been there working. I'm sure it will be great going as a customer.

Timbo1969 that's the result you deserved,it always amazes me the people on here who are prepared to criticise spelling and grammar especially those who deal with customers in their business/job I personally would avoid dealing with them if that's really how view their customers

laugh Very good, both posts. This thread makes me glad I'm not a premium car dealer.

I assume from this that it was the "2nd in command" at the factory you were dealing with and not the 2nd in command at Jaguar

The difference is one is the 2nd in command at JLR and the other is 2nd in command at the Jaguar Factory. Simples

'fkwits'.

I don't need to post this, but it's obvious that the OP is very good at keeping people on side.

Great to hear Timbo, so Jaguar are taking back your car and putting it right? As it should have been in the first place. Bravo.

I'm glad you got the result that you wanted, now can you please re-edit your original post please. there's no reason for the sales executives name to be on there.

It takes years to build a good solid name for yourself and 1 person who had an average experience to ruin it.

Thank you.
