Jaguar F-Type Project 7
Discussion
I requested a few bespoke items, hence the orange calipers, grill surround, flash on the mirrors and underside of the rear spoiler.
Inspiration was my first proper sports car was a Lotus Élan S3 and the ultimate version for me at the time was the uber rare BRM edition, which had dark green grey bodywork with orange bumpers and looked fantastic. Reckoned it might suit Project 7 as well, so went for it...

Looks fabulous.....I feel I've been too conservative! Reading between the lines, the SVO team have had a stressful time of it. When adding a roof to a car never design to have one, you face quite a challage: easy if you make kit cars and can get away with limited rain ingress and witness marks on the body-work, but certainly not if you're Jaguar and its 2015!. The retro-fitted device is no doubt subject to the same rigorous standards imposed by a quality department that sets the standards for the rest of the cars wearing this luxury brand badge.
My criticism has been communicating these issues to those of us waiting for our cars. Crucially this must improve in the future, but when the engineering guys say we'll crack it this weekend....the commercial guys will naturally postpone update calls to their clients....but are faced with Monday meetings of uncertainty: QA rejected the design again.....last week I think they gave the thumbs up! We P7 customers have been amongst the first of the SVO venture, so the wait will be worth it.....I get comfort from the Recent delays are quality related! Tom told me yesterday that the first cars were rolling out....I hadn't seen Harry's until today...this is encouraging.

Still no excuse for poor communication.I am working on a project across Europe with a manufacturer on customer satisfaction and a key part of this is about communication.
Irrespective of how good / desirable a product is if the customer experience is not perfect then customers will be lost and will probably never return
Even if the communication is to advise that there is no news then at least the customers knows they have not been forgotten - fabulous car though the Project 7 is the treatment of prospective customers appears to have been pretty awful - in this day and age thats simply not acceptable
