Harry from Evo has done a fairly in depth 20 minute review on his P7 SVO on his Youtube channel (Harry's Garage), looks very similar to the above BRG with salmon highlights, who's copying who!!! None the less the two will rarely if ever meet, beautiful car, so much want. Spare 20+ minutes good watch to those interested

Very nice P7 - I like them in blue too.

Have a Jag XJ Autobiography waiting to be collected - were you involved with this as at Frankfurt back in September it did have a SVO sign near it.

Cheers

Once again M4SER, please please please advise Jaguar to be more daring in future specials, get more weight out who needs a heavy Meridian System when that engine note is so intoxicating, time for jaguar to start rubbing shoulders with the best of them, the power is adequate just the poise to attract the serious drivers. Some SVO vehicles can he less GT more precision utensil, I totally understand there's fun to be had in a car that brakes traction easily but to get its sporting credentials up there should be a lightweight agile F type to give the Porsches and AMG and the like more to think about. Light can still be luxurious and classy just just extract the weight in the right places, after all many compare the curves of a Jaguar to the curves on a woman/ man (what ever floats you're boat) the F type looks a good a perfect to my eyes just a tad too much junk in the trunk.

Retaining creature comforts was very much a design consideration I've been told and so there would have been a calculated weight trade-off. So what does this particular market sector want, a car that boasts a really quick Nurburgring time, or a car that is very usable as a daily commuter, if the owner chooses? The car goes like stink, it's great fun and you need to respect it. In my custody, it will see a bit of track time, but it's not my track car. These cars were all sold quickly and those of us that are lucky enough to have one, are delighted (or I haven't heard to the contrary). I have often walked past my last properly quick car, on a lovely sunny day, to get in my Range Rover: an even easier thing to do when there's a bit of distance to do or the risk of a traffic queue. I know I'll find it an easier decision to use the Jag....it'll sit in traffic jams and I won't have an engine warning LED icon on permanent display (I hope) after only resetting it two weeks previously. I'm already considering a European adventure holiday in the Jag. My F1 race engineer son harped on about the weight to begin with, but he now understands that this is a quirky GT, that can be used and enjoyed with some practicality.

I reckon in the future we may well see a more hard core limited edition Jag from SVO, but this first off is a delightful thing.

By the way....here's the reasoning behind the number 4....the car commemorated 7 LeMans wins and was inspired by the D-Type.

Who could be disappointed, this is stunning convertible limited run car in my opinion one of the bravest designs of anything modern in this price bracket, I'm more on about the yet to be confirmed F Type SVR, with a rumoured 600hp, I mean there's nothing wrong with more power but hopefully there's less weight and more agility if it's going to be the most extreme mass production F Type porche has rye turbo and Gt3 I think jaguar needs to reign those cars in.

I wonder if a car that's going to be quick enough to make the journalists sing its praises, will have a front engine. If a commercial case could be made to develop a Jaguar X-C75 weighing in at less than 1300kg, with the right underpinnings, I'd put my name on the waiting list. Did you watch this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58j0Mmj41m0 ...I guess it endorses the point you are making.

Mine arrived at the dealership yesterday and they have already turned it around to showroom condition - just waiting on plates back from the DVLA then off to be wrapped with PPF biggrin

More pics later.

We are lucky guys, but things could be better for me. My car arrived at the dealer on 24th December, but sadly It sits in my garage, fully paid for and insured, but I am still unable to enjoy it. It is only at my home because I insisted on driving it here on trade plates....at least I can look at it! Registration at DVLA needs care and if your dealership is not diligent, their application may be rejected. Today I was told by my dealer that their second application was rejected, so clearly they have not followed DVLA instructions to the letter, for the second time! There are instructions from JLR, but these are not comprehensive enough from what I have seen. The car is special and has to be registered using a V55 form, which requires accompanying documents including your ID and proof of your address (utility bill). I strongly suggest that your dealership phones DVLA and asks them what is required (they are helpful and the interrogation to get through to a human is not an arduous one). Your dealership may be instructed to call HMRC to begin with (for NOVA - another acronym to confuse us). If the dealership gets it wrong, the two weeks registration period may be lost and you'll have to start again, but you'll have to twiddle thumbs until the original application docs are returned. i hope that my advice helps you avoid the unnecessary delays that I am experiencing. I don't think this is rocket science and a quick call to DVLA may make avoid some stress in what ought to be a pleasurable experience at the end of a long wait. biggrin

Did you dealer manage a problem-free registration? Mine's still not registered and looks like it's been the dealership at fault - not following Jag's instructions. Lovely day for a spin...if only.😕 Looking forward to seeing what you're doing - wrap-wise

Mine is due on 26th February apparently (can't wait!). I'm sitting looking at the helmet but now I need the car! Is anyone aware of any other "goodies" that are available? I think that I read somewhere that someone had received a silver model of the car prior to delivery.
I bought a DB7 Zagato when they came out and it was complete with build book, car cover, seat covers, leather jacket and a colour matched scale model of the car. It would be great if Jaguar were doing similar.

Still not registered, but was told 1-2 weeks and has been about 1 and a half. Not heard from the dealership that anything wrong has happened so hoping it will be smooth. Will chase tomorrow.

As for wrapping, it is just a clear film on all painted surfaces to protect from stone chips, keying and the like. Having Topaz in London do it, they wrap the film around the edge of most body panels so it is hardly noticeable once finished. The film is self-healing so if it does get scraped or chipped, leave in the sun or apply warm water and it magically fixes its self. Some nice demos on YouTube if you haven't seen it before. XPel is one of the major film brands.

I got the silver model and helmet. Not had a chance to see if anything came with the car its self - only saw the vehicle when I visited the dealership. Have seen some pictures of a car cover with roundels, but not sure if comes with the car or what...

F-TYPE badly needs paint protection extensively .... Very poor design the way stones attack it

@AB1311 . You ought to have received the resin cast model of the car, which was sent to all deposit paid customers at the time, I understand (It's a weighty thing, vacuum deposited chrome finish). You can see one pictured by 'Thirst' on page 8 of this thread. The helmets are nice, but the supplier didn't have the correct Goodwood blue, so I didn't purchase one. I did, however purchase a cover, but it's not very nice to be honest (compared with others I have had). It's the material that Halfords use for their outdoor covers I reckon. The most disappointing thing is that it's probably designed for a standard F-Type, because it doesn't fit over the rear wing very well.

Do you still have the DB7 Zegato?....what a lovely car!

@Peggsy . Thanks for the info about the wrapping. I'll check it out on YouTube. Good luck with registration.....I think that I'm just a victim of a dealer that perhaps didn't follow the instructions provided by SVO.

Trevor, standard paint protection film (PPF) is the front bumper, 1/3 bonnet, CF lip spoiler and CF mirrors

but my F-TYPE attracts stones like fly's on poo to the front wheel splash, lower rocker panels by the rear wheel arches, the arches themselves and the rear bumper wheel splash. I've had mine repainted and now applying PPF

It badly needs it

@Peggsy . Thanks for the info on the model I'll follow up with SVO. Yes I still have the Zagato. I had it wrapped (clear) by AM Works Services last year - cracking job and it protects the car from stonechips. I've had a cover made through http://www.rudler.co.uk/ I've obviously not tried it on P7 for size yet but they've made loads of other covers for me over the years and have always done a great job.

Thanks for the feedback....the protective wrap is something I'm now considering. My car was registered successfully yesterday and is sitting outside my office. lovely sunny day in Nth Herts, so will probably pop out for a run in it soon.
With regard to the car cover, I have been told that SVO are supplying bespoke covers to P7 owners, so perhaps the one I have is dealer supplied and incorrect. I've asked the question.
