Just looking at Autotrader and amazed to see the prices of Xk convertibles.

You can buy a 2004 BMW 645 for the same price as a 2000/2001 Jaguar.

I thought the Xk had high depreciation, is this not the case?

Is this just unrealistic pricing or have prices firmed up better than BMWs?

Would really like a 4.2 but not paying those prices frown

No wonder BMW and Mercedes seem more popular!

Any thoughts?

XK8s and XKRs have always held up their S/H prices, where as the XJs just drop like a stone

Also the fine weather will also meen you will pay a premium for a Convetible

How did you sell yours if you don't mind me asking? Am I looking in the wrong place?

Was the same in the Winter NormanD, have been looking for a while.

Ended up buying an Alfa just for the time being, don't really fancy the BMW/Audi?Mercedes options. But I can understand why people do when the British offerings are so unrealistically priced frown

Only that no-one is forcing you to pay those prices. If they are being achieved then maybe that should reassure you that you won't have much trouble shifting the car at a decent price when you get rid of it. I wouldn't buy a convertible slap in the middle of a hot spell as asking prices will be super high with plenty of buyers about. First week in February is good, bloody freezing and all those Christmas credit card bills in.

It's just the German myth.

The thing is that old Jags still put a smile on peoples' facing whereas old BMWs just look like old BMWs. The XK is classically good looking whereas the 6-series just looks dated and nobody thought it was good looking when it was brand new.

It's a bit misleading to point out the deltas between asking and selling prices, because the ugly BMW 645s are subject to the same thing but starting from a lower price to begin with.

I've had both 645 & XK. No brainer, Jag every time.

Got a mate selling a 6. Over a month with Autotrader, less than a dozen calls.

Seems a lot of car for the cash but like others here XK for me every time.
