The old girl passed her MOT today that's 3500miles in the last 5 years or so.

That's glorious - and in my favourite Series 2 colour too.

There has never been a sexier looking sports coupe than the X100.

Cheers - I should be getting my sticky paws on it on Friday, it looks near mint in the photo but there are a few small marks on it, plus a ding in the rear bumper but I've fallen for it hook, line and sinker. Never owned a Jag before and am looking forward to getting to know it inside and out. Nice thing about it is the history, only five previous owners with a wadge of paperwork to back up the 59, 597 miles on the clock... just needs the carbs looking at and the leather seats given a good feed. On the test drive it surprised me how good the power steering is, reading all the old road test reports from the '70s you'd get the impression it was awful but I really like it. Plenty of power and comfort, all wrapped up in a beautiful shape. Can't believe my luck!

Lovely car John, this one belongs to a good mate of mine:

When the day comes for him to sell it I'm hoping to snap it up, they seem criminally cheap for what they are!

after it passing it mot on Thursday I went out for a drive and got stuck between two annoying Golf's but when I got to a slip on the M53 there were lights.
I won't tell you how fast I got at the end of the slip but two annoying Golf's looked extremely small in the rear view mirror.
They are a wonderful machine. That looks a really nice one.
Mine is completely original yes it has Nikasil and original tensioners and it runs perfectly no rattles or bangs just a smooth V8

Nicely done! Yep that one's still 4.0 Nikasil as well, you've got lucky there! His has had the tensioners etc. all done, the only big problem he had with it was a head gasket ended up going and a coil pack let go, he had that sorted and as far as I can tell it's money well spent. Goes like stink, looks great, sounds great, it's only done 55k and is bound to appreciate in the next few years. It amazes me how comfortable they are even on the big wheels.

I like that idea. That would most definitely silence the environmentalists in my neighbourhood... Nice XJS, by the way!

After owning one at the age of 19, I've always been a fan of these cars.

had the opportunity to buy a '93 4.0 sovereign in Flamenco Red metallic, so took the chance.

here she is in all her glory(before being washed!):

Low mileage with s/history and MOTs to back it up.

A few wee tweaks to be done then she'll be a nice little smoker.

full details of the collection epic can be found on my blog at

Hope you like the car?!

What's not to like they are a stupidly cheap car to buy and that 6 cylinder engine has always been a big favourite of mine they are silky smooth.
with a bit of man maths allowing for depreciation etc you can easily justify using one as a daily driver

Thankssmile

I dont even need to justify it as a daily driver-train to work means it can be purely for pleasure!

People pay £5k for a Mondeo that is worth nothing after 2 years where £2k will buy you a very nice Jag and in 2 years if looked after it will still be worth at least half of that.
