Does your neighbour power his house lighting by multiple 12v car batteries? And write telephone messages/numbers on his walls instead of a note pad? DSJ...there needs to be more of his kind.

My first Jag. I have wanted one of these since it was first released, so with it now holding near classic status and good ones getting a bit scarce, I decided to take the plunge...

^^ Proper Jaguar!

They don't make proper Jaguars any more; 'waft' is out of fashion frown

Nearly bought a 2008 XJR from Arun about a a year ago but they sold it before I got there - always wanted to scratch the XJ itch so a 2 month wait for a new car seemed like the ideal time.

Feast your eyes on £1200 worth of XJ V8 loveliness smile

Here's my old 3.0d XF...,

And my new one, that's due to be born in November some time :-) 3.0 supercharged petrol V6.

Nice that! Have you been on www.jaginfo.org ? There's precious few new XFs on the forum, so would be good to boost number. I was going to buy a petroll 3.0, but the interior colour scheme didn't tempt me, hence the jump to an old shap RS.

How does the ride of the new XJ compare with a proper XJ? wink

Front is OK but I still need a guide dog and a white stick to get round the back

It's in a different league ride quality wise, best thing I have ever driven every which way, used to love my X308 XJR but I never fell in love with the X350 even though it was a better car. Looks wise I love the X351 from every angle but the corner rear, just need to work on it a but more to say I hated the way it looked back in 2009.

No but I've seen him riding his '50s motorcycle sans helmet in true DSJ style! (With profuse apologies for using the word 'stylee' in broad daylight biggrin).

Just bought a 1983 V12 XJ-S, with a manual gearbox conversion - great fun. Just compiling a list of jobs to do...

Up on the Grossglockner in Austria just before dusk yesterday with the whole alpine road to ourselves - what a cracking car the Project 7 is turning out to be - love it !
