Hello boys,

My gentleman's express needs new footwear. As she is an old girl, and a bit rusty, consequently I don't fancy the £100+ a corner on P6000s. She has maybe one or two years before scrap. What are the alternatives?

Did think of getting another, there are pretty decent-looking ones about for peanuts, but the devil you know...

Thanks

Cheers - been quoted £99 locally for those, so not bad.

Avon ZV5 on mine - about £100 each fitted.

Don't get P6000s again. They are utter tripe.

Replaced my P6000's with Evergreen tyres - never heard of them till I had them fitted.

I would not have had them until the garage guy said I was wasting my money with the P6000's. As I have known him for over 20 years he is worth listening to. Also he has Evergreen's on his car - I checked.

He did give me a warning of not going over 125mph due to the speed rating.

Anyway 3 months later, £365 for 4 new tyres and my 6.0 Daimler drives fine. Key thing for me was grip and these tyres are B rated - nearly the highest rated.

Done - Four new Kumhos. Feel I ought to check the speed rating (in case of Germany). Otherwise great. I hadn't realised how the barely legal P6000s had ruined the handling. I was worried about worn bushes and all sorts. Turned out it was the tyres.

I have now doubled the value of my car smile
