Bonnet Alarm on xk8

Hi

I have been working on my bonnet latch on my 2000 XK8, I noticed that if I alarm the car and with at present the bonnet latch of te car not operating I can lift the bonnet without the alarm going of. Is there an alarm activating swich inside the engine bay and where is it located or is there no alarm swich fitted, please any advice most welcome.
