The fuse on 5.0 ltr xkr is under the passenger footwell
It's actually behind the pull off back panel between the rear seats - very easy to get to! smile

There is a fuse 19 in the passenger footwell fuse box but it's not the one for the active exhaust, it's something else entirely.

In any case, an XK (i.e. non-supercharged, not an XKR) doesn't have active exhaust valves so removing fuse 19 from the box between the rear seats will have no effect, if it's even there in the first place.

Ah, ok.

So, to answer the question posed - there is no active exhaust on your XK 5.0. There is however an active exhaust on your XKR 4.2 and I think from memory the fuse is the same as the later cars i.e. fuse 19 between the rear seats.

Removing the active exhaust fuse will have a nice effect on both 4.2 and 5.0 standard exhaust cars but the transformation on 5.0 cars with the optional performance active exhaust is astounding.

Daft question, but is removing the fuse just doing the same thing as pressing the dynamic button?

As I understand it (my 4.2 XKR doesn't have the dynamic mode button), yes - although there are other things the dynamic mode does besides pinning the valves open. Obviously the fuse being out means the valves are open all the time.
