I think i understand it now.
The model that i'm after is pre-face lift, circa 2009 to 2010.
It has to be the R model, so 510BHP, supercharged.

Although some of the adverts do not mention it, it would seem that all R's come with the Xenon headlights; to differentiate it from the other (pre face lift) models, which will come with halogen as standard (unless otherwise upgraded).

Thanks

Interesting reading, I currently run a 2010 FFRR 4.4TDV8 and a 2014 XK-R Dynamic convertible and am looking to have the best of both worlds in one car.
Current choices are the XF R-S or the new RRS SVR, have a feeling that the rrs with be a bit too bling for customer visits so need something not too in your face, so am thinking the xf with the subtle rear spoiler might be the one to go for.
Any other contenders?

I have this car smile. After a year of ownership and no problems, I thoroughly recommend one.

Mpg is low and road tax is high. Pay it and smile at the rumble and roar.

Potters around town smoothly with the family, goes like a force of nature when wanted. It is a reasonably big beast, so you do need a bit of space to get it going, but amazing fun.

So far, I love it and will not be changing for as long as the reliability stays. Fuel prices are even on the way down to make it easier on the wallet (a bit, at least). smile.

Howdy! AT LAST!!! I've taken the plunge and bought an XFR, in black with near enough every conceivable extra possible.....! I luff it!

Pictures and initial reaction to follow (other than how flamin' quick it is!).

Thought I'd bump an old thread rather than start a new one- I'm on the verge of joining the club, just a small matter of finding one with the right colour/spec (2010/11 black/blue with Ivory interior and B&W audio/DAB). A couple of questions- biggest fear is having it nicked off the driveway- anyone have any experiences with getting a tracker fitted?
Also it'll be comfortably the most powerful car I've had as a daily- closest to it was an SV8 I owned for 6 glorious months in 2013- are there any performance driving courses/ tutored track days that anyone would recommend?

Can't image there is any problems getting a tracker fitted. I think they can fit them to just about anything.

On the verge of, hopefully, buying one this weekend.
I'm guessing that these are solid cars, but it there anything that i should be looking out for?

The car is an 09 model, has about 64K miles and has a full Jaguar Service History?

There's nothing in particular that jumps out as a weak point you can actively look out for. Just make sure the test drive reveals a fairly taught and predictable handler. If it's a bit sloppy or vague then it may benefit from new bushes but that's hit or miss really.

You could check that the so-called valley pipe has been replaced or is in good condition. It's only a simple pipe but it's extremely expensive to replace. You can search this PH Jaguar site for earlier posts on the subject if interested.

Rear ediff and water pump are two issues apparently. Other things to check would be that the mountain of electrics all work, no delamination on the windscreen and no rust on the boot area around the chrome strip.

After posting in this thread about one last september I finally picked one up a few weeks ago. Epic car and has genuinely (pleasantly) surprised me at how it drives. Absurd amount of car for the money.

Good luck with the search.

I picked up an XFR on Saturday after moving up from an SV8. The SV8 was lovely car but didn't have the looks of the facelifted XFR, and the warranty renewal was too expensive so I found an XFR.

I can say over the last 12 months that the SV8, was very easy to live with, no costs other than buying and fuelling it (7k miles), but it was in for several warranty issues.

Initial impressions of the XFR are similar. Very easy to drive sedately and cruise around, but it is much more focused and a little stiffer. Still not as stiff as a megane 250.

Performance wise it's insanely fast when it wants to be and the back end is great.the SV8 was a good intro to big rear power but the XFR allows more slip and it stepped out a couple of times when I was playing today but each time it was so easy to keep out of trouble!

To satisfy my curiosity, what stagger is on the tyres of the standard XFR?

I think it can vary, mine were off being cleaned today and they're 8.5j front and 9.5j rear.

I picked up my one today, and what a machine this is!!!
It's blisteringly quick and sounds oh so cloud9

My first drive was from Wales to Kent and then back into London with only one stop in Kent (so my old man can take a look at it). Not one ache or pain and the cooling seats are awesome for such a long drive. I've always favoured the bike for getting around, but any excuse, i'm going to be in the Jag.

I'm going to be up extra early on Monday morning to try and commute into London with it, and see how it compares to the bike (especially when it's freezing cold outside).
Oh and that B&W audio system, it's better than my Bose set-up in the house!!!

I haven't yet bothered with the SatNav, as i knew where i was driving today, and i've still got to pair my phone to the car. But i was able to read music off my USB stick, without having to faff around, which was a nice surprise.

All in all, the best car i've ever driven and owned.
