Time has come to think about moving on from the X350 XJ diseasel. I had an XF Sv8 for about six months last year which I regretfully had to part with due to a change in jobs and a longer commute. That problem has been resolved by a new job closer to home. Combine that with slowly getting fed up of the power delivery of the 2.7D (well more like a total lack of power compared to a dirty big supercharged V8 ) and I'm thinking its time for a change.
I like the idea of the XE S but given that's not out for aaaages and I'd like to change in the next few months Im thinking that the same engine (I assume) in an XF would do me just fine. The other alternative is a lightly used XFR - which to be honest I am warming to, but Im not sure if I can get the wife to sign up to buying a 5.0 V8 when shes rolling around in a 1.6 shopping trolley!

So- anyone have a 3.0 S/C? How is it to live day to day? Any must have options or things to avoid??

ali355,

Just a comment: I have a XF 5.0 V8 (not supercharged) and my wife has a Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDI. I get no complaints!

Have you driven an XF Diesel S? 600Nm. Different gravy compared to 2.7L Diesel.

The 3.0 V6 is a great motor. There's plenty of power thanks to the supercharger, several colleagues have the XJ (with AWD) with that engine having had the N/A V8 previously and are very happy with it. It's the standard engine in the FFRR here and has plenty of power even for that. I've sold many cars with the engine over the past 2 years and have had no complaints.
