Or so my local tyre guy says.

Had a 'check all tyre pressure' warning come up, so nipped to my independent and this is what he said. Apart from all being a couple of pounds down on recommended pressure, my fronts are Jag but rears Aston.

At least no puncture but surprised I am shod with AM rears.

I wanted him to jot down what they were in order to see how available they are if the inevitable happens.

Are you saying instead of a J size prefix they have an A

If the size other than that is correct, for example 255/45 ZR18 99Y nothing to worry about
It's more about marketing and the tyre manufacurers trying to make a few extra ££

Sorry, didn't explain very well. I have an F Type, I know nothing re tyres. When the guy checked them he just said that the fronts were for Jaguar but the rears for AM. I guess what Norman said is probably correct.

Aston Martin ones normally have AM9 on them. Supposedly they are engineered for the model ranges, on the basis that most find the Michelin Supersport, which isn't AM approved, to be a better tyre on the Vantages I wouldn't worry.
They are supposed to be better suited to the weight of the vehicle so on the basis i believe your F Type is almost the same weight as a Vantage I would think there wouldn't be a problem.
You have obviously been driving around on them without detecting a problem and if your tyre service hadn't said anything you still would be.
