I've asked for a quote fro jaguar for the base model to see what I can achieve as they offer the military a 20% discount from list.

Well let's hope I hear back from them
I think you will find that its 10% on the F type and whats more its half funded by the dealer so dont expect much if any extra from the dealer on top.

I see A/T has a one owner V8S, 2013, with 28000 miles, up for £46990. He had it previously for a few weeks at £47990 but he clearly had no takers at that price, hence the reduction. My guess is he paid £44000 for it, as he has to allow for prep, warranty & profit in the price. I'd have had it but the mileage is too high for me. Winter approaching seems to be making dealers nervous

Anyone thinking of selling their 2013 V8S convertible please PM me as I'm looking to buy. I'll pay more than a dealer

its a very poor spec, bog standard seats.

I too considered it, but couldn't do that spec AND those miles.

tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if its on SOR, as proper dealers don't get nervous and reduce prices like that

ended up buying a R with CCB's

Was offered a very well specced V8S today, 13 plate, 10k miles, pretty much everything except CCBs from a main dealer for £50.5k and was sorely tempted but not quite the right colour combination for me. Some other lucky git has snapped it up though already unsurprisingly!

true. Was looking at a V8 in the BCA auction and they have the trade price at 37 to 40 with 35 k on the clock registered august 2013. In white, condition report excellent. Lost half its value in 2 years

That price does sound cheap, can you confirm you actually saw it go through the block and sell? cheapest auto Trader right now is a 28,000 mile car at £47k, it's on with an independent specialist. I were talking about auction price versus retail.
Having said that, 35,000 miles seems pretty high for a 2-year-old F-type

a '13 plate white V8 S with 35k sounds about right for trade value of £40k

but these are low mileage cars

normal mileage is 5k pa

so 35k after 2 years is mega high miles, so values being that low is not surprising

ps. i guess this the car referred to in a earlier post ?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/j...

looks a bargain but I could not do the red leather ... so i guess this is a show stopper for many, maybe better for a lady purchasor

If you're referring to the one I mentioned earlier, that was a different car (Polaris White) which never got as far as being advertised in the classifieds.

Funnily enough though, I did get a call from my local dealer about this car a couple of days ago but I'm not keen on silver. Conversely I quite like the red interior and even red hood but just not with white or silver biggrintongue out

I've just been offered £39000 for this. Madness.

Jaguar F-type V8S Convertible. 2 owners.

Salsa Red
Black premium leather
5.0 V8S 495 bhp
18200 miles 2013 '13' plate

Options are:
20' V8R 'Gyrodine' alloy wheels
Heated windscreen
Heated seats
Performance bucket seats
18 way adjustable seats with memory
Meridien Hifi upgrade
Auto lights and wipers
Keyess entry
Sat nav etc

All tyres at 5mm. No damage to the car at all. New driver's seat fitted last month by Jaguar Milton Keynes as I wasn't happy with the bolster wear.

Looks like I'll have to keep it forever!

It's probably worth mentioning that Jaguar's Options list on the F-Type is both:
1. Not cheap, and;
2. Not worth it in most cases.

If you don't actually like it a lot more than the standard spec (or, it's really useful), don't pay extra for it.

A recent test in Evo suggests that the only upside to CCBs - aside from willy-waving - is never having to replace the pads/discs. But, if you're only keeping it for 3 years, why would you care?

Things worth having:
- The adjustable suspension;
- Parking pack (front sensors and rear camera)
- Heated windscreen (but, only if you leave it outside);
- ummm...

Gyrodynes look nice, alloy paddle shifters look and feel nice, as does the flat bottomed wheel.

If you need a willy warmer, consult your doctor - it will be cheaper.

HTH.
