Pre-Owned F Types

Hi all
Has anyone driven back to back the 340 and 380 ps models ? . i was wondering if you could really feel the difference in performance or if it felt different? just trying to justify the extra to buy an S over a standard model, Im waiting for better weather for a test drive at the moment but not yet managed it.

I have and ended up ordering the 340. On a public road there was almost no difference imo (so long as the active exhaust is fitted to the 340, otherwise the sound is quite a bit different). I would say though that mine was also dictated by budget - I had the choice of a v6 spec'd to the teeth, or a fairly base v6s and decided that the improvement to the S wasn't enough for me to negate a load of extras I wanted. If budget was less of an issue I'd have gotten the S.Has anyone driven back to back the 340 and 380 ps models ? . i was wondering if you could really feel the difference in performance or if it felt different? just trying to justify the extra to buy an S over a standard model, Im waiting for better weather for a test drive at the moment but not yet managed it.
I have the V8 and in normal mode the TC works well enough not to spit you off the road :-) with dynamic mode though it does allow you to slide the back end a bit.
I played around on an empty grass car park and tried getting it to slide in dynamic mode, the car does slide a bit but then the TC stops you from completely spinning which is quite a bit of fun....
Just my 2p

Thanks.
It has the panoramic roof, the wheels are being painted gloss black and finally red seat belts to be fitted to match the stitching and just lift the cabin a little.
I was thinking about having the steering wheel re-trimmed in black alcantara with a red stitch, what do you think?

I agree , on start up with the loud button on as demonstrated by the dealer it was loud!! So loud in fact that I am worried that the neighbours will complain when it's fired up in the garage :rolleyes
If you pop it into D or S quickly it will drop the revs a little, sadly no way to avoid the initial thunder as you podge the start button though!Nomal said:

Lovely car....just ask your neighbours if they have heard of the latest deals on double glazing...hint hint....Returning to this thread i notice the V6 convertable i mentioned in my original post when i started this thread is still for sale with the same dealer.......9 months later. They have dropped the price 2k recently.......so the question is are pre-owned F Types currently overpriced?.....from what i can tell....the answer would be yes.
The red V8S 2013 convertible on Autotrader at £50K is still for sale, having been reduced from £52K 3 weeks ago, with it going to auction next week.
Having spoken to the non franchise dealer, I happen to think it is an ex-Jaguar 'experience day' car, so well ragged, but not everyone would realise that. The fact is it's unsold shows values will continue to plummet over the next 12 months

You would normally expect any three year old mass manufactured car to lose 45% or thereabouts of its sticker price at three years old so 50k for the car you mention at 2 years is fruity. There is a 2014 car on offer at the same money and some V8s that arent so far away.Having spoken to the non franchise dealer, I happen to think it is an ex-Jaguar 'experience day' car, so well ragged, but not everyone would realise that. I love the F-Type, but no one is buying them in sufficient numbers. Trouble with a squeezed middle class and over priced products, no one can afford them anymore. Only going to get worse as the top 0.1% stuff the last few quid in their back pocket and switch off the light....
Sounding militant!

I've been really surprised at the attitude of the two official Jaguar dealers I've visited, I'm surprised they manage to sell anything at all.
The first couldn't be bothered to show me round the car, they just told me where it was on the forecourt.
The second started off more promising and I booked a test drive. On the morning of the test drive, which was two weeks later, they phoned to cancel. Since then they've not contacted me to see if I'm still interested. A really strange way of doing business.
The most helpful dealer by far was Sarah Cox Cars. Anybody have any thoughts on this http://www.sarahcoxcars.co.uk/used-cars/jaguar-f-t...

Paul.....I`m looking at buying an F Type Coupe, probably the V6S. I have visited a couple of dealers and one of the first things I get told is `you can get a set of golf clubs in the boot!`......it might be a good idea if they asked the potential purchaser if they played golf firstly.......needless to add...I do not. Strange sales tactic if you ask me.
Just looked at the one you are looking at, price seems fair, nice colour Firesand. I have driven the 340ps V6,it was quick but felt it needed a bit more. The V6S is 380ps and is supposed to be the best drivers car, the V8 is a hooligan.
Regards
Al.
