Pre-Owned F Types
Discussion
Hi Al, thanks for your reply.
I love the Firesand colour but there aren't many of them around.
I've only driven the 340ps V6, felt quite quick. I've yet to drive a 380ps, may have to pay a visit to Rybrook in Chester as they've a firesand.
Good luck with your search, the coupe is a stunning looking car.

Seemed a goodish time to buy, got a good discount and two free services.
That looks really nice.Seemed a goodish time to buy, got a good discount and two free services.
I've not totally ruled out a F-Type but I've now started looking at something else too.
It seems to me that dealers love the cars so much they don't want to sell them, cancelled test drives, un-returned phone calls and salesmen who can't be bothered to show me the car or answer my questions have annoyed me.

Hi all
Has anyone driven back to back the 340 and 380 ps models ? . i was wondering if you could really feel the difference in performance or if it felt different? just trying to justify the extra to buy an S over a standard model, Im waiting for better weather for a test drive at the moment but not yet managed it.
You might have seen another thread about the supposedly 380ps the V6S produces.Has anyone driven back to back the 340 and 380 ps models ? . i was wondering if you could really feel the difference in performance or if it felt different? just trying to justify the extra to buy an S over a standard model, Im waiting for better weather for a test drive at the moment but not yet managed it.
A friend and I have had our S's on the rollers and they only make 335/338 respectively (yes at the flywheel in case you ask) so jag are investigating.
Also, the V6 only has a 70% throttle opening compared to the 100% the V6S does so a remap will release the extra if you get someone who knows what they are doing.
Not sure if this fits with name and shame rules, if not I am sorry. Just thought it worth a comment, in case anyone is thinking of this one it's an ex hire car, I had it for a day last year from Avis Prestige (BTW they are superb to deal with) and they have some sort of franchise type deal with Miles & Miles Luxury Hire. I drove it for around 400 miles on that day, and to be fair I drove it hard, it had around 7k on the clock in May last year and the internal trim rattled a bit. Not saying its a bad car but just a warning to any potential buyer to check it out. Oh and its gone up in price by around 10K since it first appeared.

Paul 1962....your comment about dealers hanging on to them for themselves rings true.....last week I went into a well known Coventry Jaguar dealership....told them what I wanted....told them my budget....the guy came up with a car similar spec to what I want and told me he would need to sort the price out for me....he did.....8.5k over my budget!!!!....what was the point?

Why would a Jaguar main dealer give a car away just because you have a "budget"?daemon said:

....so if I were you I would go away and mind your own business...............
You could just use the edit button I like the fact they have two cars which are the spec you want only they're not the spec you want as the colour or an option or something is wrong. I guess you're saying the budget is reasonable but I've never met a car dealer that cars that much about your budget, they're only really bothered about the stock they have and what margin they have to play with. The most furiating conversation I've ever had with a dealer is when they refused to sell a car at a fair market price because it 'owed them too much' and they had to wait until they next revalued their stock.
