Very few Fezza's have been luxurious, I think you'll find. TBH, there's not a fat lot in common between Ferrari and Jag, but OK, maybe being a little pedantic there.

In the 60s Jag could meet with those other great brands . . .

Rari made cars for fast travelling like the 365, 456, 412, the 612 today . . . Masser the Qporto . . .

But those days are over for Jaguar.

For that kinda money I'll get myself a nice Beemer . . . sorry.

Did you just say the Sagaris is a rival to the XK???

Hardly - hardcore uber-sports car versus refined GT!

The XK's obvious rivals are:-
911
BMW 6-series
Maser Coupe
Merc SL

And the new 'vette, perhaps.

Very few people looking at the XK will look much further than that shortlist.

just thought i would comment on this.
i dont mean to offend anyone but i have always considered the xk a little ugly,i am sure you xk drivers might not be to keen to be seen in my xjr.
but i must say i do like this car,in a beter colour, amongst other cars it will look a lot better i am sure.
i think i would buy one, cant say anymore.....

so no Aston . . .

One can consider an 80s Rari . . .

I'll have the 6.

Aston's start, even with the new V8 2-seater, at £80k+, vs £50-some thousand for the XK.

'80s 'rari's were sh1t3, quite frankly. Once you got past the very competent 328, the 348 and the T-rossa were pure drivel. And still different cars to Jags. Not quite sure why they keep popping up in this thread.

Have you ever worked in the car industry???

No, is it a requirement for this thread?

...Jag will make a LOT more profit out of the S-Type and XJ than they will out of the XK

I'm not arguing that.

You only recall the D- and E-Types from the past, because they were the "sexy" products, but I will bet any reasonable sum that Jaguar actually made the majority of it's money in that period off of the more mundane saloons they produced.

True, and I'm not saying that Jaguar shouldn't build saloons (although the less mundane the better). Do you not think that some of the sales of the saloons can be attributed to the success and glamour of the D and E Types?

Now grow up!

I'm quite happy to have a reasoned, intelligent debate with you. There's no need for this. I haven't made disparaging remarks about your comments and I would appreciate the same courtesy. We can disagree without name calling.
