Anyone done a Terraclean on an XJR ?
I have a 98 XJR which will be Nikasil lined of course, wonder if there is a potential issue with this ?

according to their FAQ there is no problem doing a Nikasil engine.
let me know how you get on if you have it done and how much it costs

Finally getting round to doing this, its booked for this coming Tuesday so will report back.
This is costing £85.00 cash. Kind of mates rates, but not quite, the usual price us £110.00.

Yes, at least I think it was Wheeler Dealers, and it is endorsed by the mechanic geezer.

Yes Edd did one on WD, an XK8 I think. Obviously he showed fantastic improvements in all the metrics but crucially no dyno run. Also we don't know if the test was cold (before) and hot (after) which would make a huge difference. But then WD is entertainment not a documentary... He would appear to have some commercial interest in the product though, in which case he'd be biased anyway.

If was wasn't selling the XJR I was planning to get it done but visit the dyno on the way there and back, but unfortunately it wasn't to be, it's for sale now so would have been a waste of money.

Have you got any feedback yet from the operation?

It was peeing down when I picked it up so just took it easy and stuck it straight in the garage.
First bit of dry and I will give it a run and report back. It felt a little more responsive but that may be psychological !

Apologies for the late feedback.

OK I reckon there is a definite difference in the car after Terraclean.

First thing I noticed was the car sounded different, the noise from the cabin sounded less raspy, just like a more definite mechanical sound, like a newer car.

Secondly, I can usually tell by gut feel when I accelerate what speed I am doing, within a couple of mph anyway, how quickly I get to approximately 60 and then from 70 to 100 mph, like a second nature.
In all honesty it was doing 10 mph more than usual in both scenarios.

To clarify when it usually got to around 60, it was doing 70.......sorry Officer, just had it Terracleaned .....

I am sure that some if this may be psychological, my expectation for an improvement, but its there.

Question, why didn't I do it sooner ?

Recommended.
