Not a noobie to the site only this forum,

Well, got to drive my first Jag today, S Type 4.2 V8 sport.

I was very impressed, to say the least, in fact, that impressed I bought it! bouncebounce

Very nice! I had an S-Type 4.2 V8 SE for over ten years from almost new (was a demonstrator with 14 miles done). Did close on 130,000 miles. I have all of its history so ask of you wish to know anything based on my experience with the car.

It was preceded by an S-Type 4.0 V8 SE which I had for 3 1/2 years and about 85,000 miles. The later model is a big step up in my view.

Changed the S-Type in June 2014 for an XF 5.0 Portfolio. Very nice too!

Hi Al! Long time no speak.

Got shot of the Alfa? I also joined the Jag Fraternity last year, XFS but sadly only a V6 oil burner. Finally parted with the Cerbera and beginning to regret it.

Thanks for the welcome guys, MIKE E now there's a mate from the past how are you doing you young bugger!

Great to see you posting, I did rate your Cerb one of the finest and well cared for cars around at the time.

Bet Fernies were sad you sold it!

(Hello you little lurkers) hehe

Nice car you have now please post a piccy, must get together for a bevvy at the Coach sometime soon.

Hi Al

Fernies weren't too upset, I sold it to them! Couldn't be arsed with test pilots plus I got the sum I wanted. Having seen the state of the market for used Cerberas I should have kept it in hindsight, didn't realise how good mine was, but hey ho. Still got a V8 in the Mercedes and it is quicker, just too damn quiet. Be good to have a get together for a chat, it's been a while! Regards to Miggy BTW.

Hi big fella, apologies for not catching up. Loads going on, Tony breaking arm, stuff with Lauren etc. where's the year gone?

Will call over weekend and hope you doing ok.

Back to cars, and congrats on the Jag. They really are fantastic cars, underrated in many quarters. Still adoring our F Type R. Amazing car and here when you want to give it a test.

Speak soon, take care and love and hugs to Miggy.

Di xxxx

Edited to say an old sod like you should know the rules. Where's the photo's. I dunno, can't get the staff these days. wink

Now that is beautiful, not that up on the older models, I know the 120's, 150's Mk1's & two's but don't recognise that one, give us a hint. smile

Great car and welcome to the fold! I'm a relative newcomer to the marque, started off with this on a whim;

Not a good one but I got the Cat bug so moved on to a 4.2S a bit older than yours....wow, what a machine. Effortless and such a Q car, owned it for 3 years and still rates as one of my favourite cars.

Current steed, never ever try one of these unless you've got your wallet ready, the whine from the supercharger makes all logic go out of the window and it will arrive on your drive! smile

Have fun!

Thanks for the welcome Duncan, much appreciated.

I know what you mean about the 4.2 sport, it is an awesome car for the money.

Loving it to bits at the mo, now the STR, I hear what you are saying, and drooling already, perhaps my next venture, perhaps. hehe

Hi Al wavey Congrats on your purchase, very nice! Our daily is now an LPG'd 2002 X350 and we absolutely love it. The Chim is still in the garage though, so with the Bentley we now have an all British fleet. smile
