Some of you may remember a post I put up a couple of months are so asking for advice on buying a XJ-S, & of two PH'ers contacting me both with cars they were thinking of selling.
Well, I looked at a few locally first trying to gauge condition versus price point, so when I went to see the two cars in question I pretty much knew the type of car I wanted. Interestingly the guys were both called Lewis, lived in the same area & were friends, one with a V12 auto & the other a 3.6 Manual. Well I couldn't fault either car, & although initially I favoured a V12, the lure of a manual box in the end proved too much. I am very grateful to both guys for being so open & helping me with my decision, neither pushed their car as better than the other, just different, & so it proved.
So, to the car; I have had her just under a month now & have polished her to within an inch of her life, & just driven & enjoyed her. I have only done around 500 miles, all town driving apart from getting her home, & she is averaging 26mpg so far. I have a trip up to Sheffield soon so it will be interesting to see how much better I can do.
Please forgive the location of the pictures, not the best background but are the only ones I have for now.

Lovely, exactly the spec I'd want for an XJS Coupe.

Reg looks familiar, did you buy it in Swindon?

3.6 manual with Sportspack suspension and 7x16 Otto Fuchs alloys.

Good choice.

Brings back a lot of happy memories for me driving those at MIRA.

No I didn't, Biggleswade actually, I believe it has lived in the Cambridge area all it's life.
