What are the desired options on an XKR ?
I know it's a personal thing but are there some that are really worth having and holding out for when car hunting ?

These cars seem to come pretty well loaded as standard but I'd not like to buy one and then discover an option that I wish I'd had on mine.

I've got a few questions that hopefully some current owners can help with ....

Is the Bowers system worth holding out for over the standard one ?

When did the front wing vents change for vertical to horizontal and were there any other tweaks made to the styling at the same time ? Reason I ask is that I've seen 61 plate cars with horizontal vents and later reg cars with vertical.

Do they all come with DRLs ? I've seen some adverts specifically listing DRLs as an extra.

Is it worth paying that bit more to get one from an authorised dealer with the 2 year Warranty ?

I've seen a sports or speed pack kit listed as an extra, is this subtle body styling ?

Do they all come with sat nav as standard ?

Is there such a thing as a switchable exhaust similar type of thing that Porsche fit ?

I'm probably looking to spend somewhere about 35 ish, car will be a third car used at weekends.

I'll probably think of other question but these will do for now !!

Thanks.

Bowers & Wilkins is standard
2012 cars have the much improved headlights and slightly different bumper/air vents
Satnav is standard
No swichable exhaust - it's active, so valves open at higher revs
Aero pack gives a larger rear spoiler and a front spoiler
Speed pack gives as above, plus side skirts, rear bumper with diffuser and raised speed limiter to 174MPH

My car has the following extras:
Speed pack
Black pack - black window surrounds, air vents and grills
Sports exhaust - still adaptive as per standard one, but much much better sounding!
Adaptive headlights
Adaptive (radar) cruise control
Performance seats
Tyre pressure monitoring
DAB radio (this might be standard in later cars? But my previous 2009 XKR 5.0 didn't have it.

The things I particularly like are:-

Performance seats
Adaptive cruise control - a pretty rare option

I don't think that these cars are especially dependent on options though. They are as you said very well equipped as standard. The 5 litre is a fantastic engine. The best you can get is either an XKR-S or an XKR Dynamic and I think that these are still a bit above your budget but getting there.

IMHO the best GT car package you can get - you could go to Istanbul and back in one of these and get out totally relaxed.

Thanks guys , think I'll list some options that I'd like and look out for a 2012 car that has them.
Having said that though I think the right colour ,mileage and price may override the option list
as the cars are pretty well optioned anyway.
What does the "dynamic" option bring ?

Basically it's the XKR-S setup without the 540 BHP engine
