XKR Ipod/iPhone 6 problems

My car appears to have suddenly developed a problem with my iPod - as soon as the iPhone 6 is connected using the lead (with Apple adaptor for the new smaller connection) the car touchscreen crashes and reboots in a continuous cycle.

Anyone else experienced this? Or have any idea what the problem is?

Car is a 62 plate XKR with Bowers&Wilkins. Used to be fine......I don't really want to have to put all my music onto a stick.
