hi all ive sold my xk8 and are thinking about a xkr can u get a new shape xkr with the cheeper 290 road tax like the old xk8

No. I have sitting in front of me from DVLA a renewal for £505 for the next 12 months of enjoyment.
One can not run these beauties on the cheap.

I think it has to be registered pre April 2006 to qualify for the cheaper tax

This. I've seen one X150 XK on a 55-plate but there will have only been a tiny number of these registered before the cut-off date for the cheaper road tax.

To be honest, the difference in cost (about £220) will only be a small percentage of the overall running costs for the year anyway. Much better to get the newest, lowest mileage and best cared-for example you can afford, that'll likely end up saving you more than £220/year in the long run.

I now its only 220 pound but that will run one of my classic bikes no probs u no what its like by the time u got 2 cars 3 bikes a crosser a caravan etc it mounts up and I don't no if I want a new one or old shape I have been showing the xk8 at classic car shows with my club will anybody want to see a new shaped car im not sure
