A mate of mine has just bought one of these today, and brought it round for me to have a look at.
Absolutely massive, which I didn't realise just by looking at the publicity pictures. He parked it next to my Jeep, which all of a sudden looked like an outdated Dinky toy. What an absolutely stunning bit of kit Jaguar are now making compared to a few years ago. The interior is huge, loads of legroom in the rear, and a full sized glass roof makes it look even roomier, especially with the white upholstery which he's specced in it.
Loads of toys as well, including the ability to operate most things from his phone, even a HUD on it. It seems like he ticked every box, though it transpires that it was originally the dealer demo car which matched his choices exactly, so he's done without the waiting time. This is what he told me anyway, and I'm not sure exactly how it worked, but he now owns it.
It's in that nice metallic blue colour with black 22" rims, but 40 profile tyres so not too bouncy he reckons. 3.0 V6 twin turbo diesel to power it, and when he set off it really did move nicely. I'm hopefully going to have a longer play early next week.
It seems like Jaguar have really upped their game on this one, and I should imagine that a few manufacturers will be paying a lot of attention to it.

Agree regarding the size! Sounds like your friend has a first edition. Fully loaded launch version. Currently going for 10 k over list! Apart from that, it's the same as what my mate has just acquired, even down to that weird pattern in the seats, though I didn't notice a white diffuser on his?
If I remember correctly it was not white but grey as some details in the front (I think it is reflecting the colour of the floor)Sheepshanks said:

It's 6 inches longer than a Disco Sport. But it's nearly 7in wider
That width would be ludicrous. I looked it up and they're near as dammit identical.I was quite interested in this until I sat in one at the London Motorshow last week. Sorry to break rank but I thought the interior was really cramped for such a big SUV,
I had very little headroom and the switchgear was complete overload with bewildering numbers of buttons and switches - all pretty cheap. Maybe it was the
driving position but it felt really claustraphobic.
When you sit in the back, the all round view was terrible as the windows are relatively narrow. As the seats are quite low down and the front seats so 'wide' you can only see forward
through the tiny gap between the seats. It doesn't have the performance or the kudos but I'll stick with my XC90.
