I have just acquired a very straight 6.0 car from 1994, the very first ones ever made.
I recall my Dad having the series 3 Jags when I was a boy. The noise from start up
is just wonderful, these cars must be the smoothest engine ever made, I really
am enjoying it immensely, which also proves that we don't need to spend fortunes
to get thrills, I have a few other expensive cars and for now I am having a real
honeymoon with my 6.0.

I struggled to find one actually, anyone noticed how few about?

Fabalous. The 6.0 is double cream smooth, how do you find the 3 speed gearbox in
your car? Have you driven both a 5.3 and 6.0 for comparison?

Looks amazing...congratulations....

I used to have an L reg Double Six and it was amazingly smooth...fuel consumption was horrendous and it cost about £3k in servicing/ repairs in the two years I owned it....eventually had to sell it as needed a daily driver...

The more you use it, the better it will be for the car

Very nice. smile

Although the first 6.0 litre ones where in 1993 as the XJ81 (XJ40 shape). Truly awesome car and engine and IMO the 6.0 litre with the 4l80e 4 speed auto is a massive improvement over the 5.3 and the 3 speed GM400.

Not sure, but did the x300's do away with the LSD on the V12's, I seem to recall traction control was introduced and the LSD became only available on the XJR6.

According to 1996 UK XJ6 & XJ12 brochure http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/96bro_jld-10-0... it was available as an extra cost option. That brochure doesn't cover the XJR, so you'd have to look at http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/xjr/xjr_04-95_... which shows the XJR as having the limited slip diff as standard.
